As I lay me down to sleep, I say this prayer

Our Beer,
Which art in Barrels.
Hallowed be thy drink,
Thy will be drunk,
I will be drunk,
At home, as it is in the pub.

Forgive us this day our daily spillages, as we forgive those that spill against us.
For thine is the beer,
The Bitter and the Lager,
For ever and ever,

Barman.

Good night all

Good Maen and we remain in a deep freeze but safe and sound - I would like to try blowing bubbles - that looks like fun.
I don't think I have heard any frost quakes but alot of people have - sounds like the windows are cracking - I guess it is caused when the cold gets into the ground

Found in the back of the More...

We'd finally built our dream home, but the contractor had a concern: the placement of an atrium window for our walk-in shower.

'I'm afraid your neighbors might have a good view of you au naturel,' he said.

My middle-aged wife put him at ease. 'Don't worry,' she said. 'They'll only look once.'

At age 70, my grandfather bought his first riding lawn mower.

'This thing is great,' he bragged to my brother. 'It took me only an hour and a half to mow the lawn. It used to take your grandmother two days to do it all!'

I Must Confess

An Irishman lies dying; his wife is by his bedside.

He says in a weakened voice “There is something I must confess”.

“Shhhh” said the wife, “there is nothing to confess”

She holds his hand and caresses his head. “Everything is all right” she More...

For all the 'alternative energy' fanatics.

The only real defense against Winter Storm Jayden is fossil fuels—the source of the vast majority of electricity that Americans will need to stay warm. Pie-in-the-sky talk about renewable energy won’t warm hearths and hearts during this storm, More...

Thanks for the nice comments on the photo. When it flashed up I admired it and was pleasantly surprised that it was one of mine.
Well, I did take it 9 years ago.

It's colder than usual around here, but nothing like what's going on in higher latitudes. Luckily, no liquids from the sky the past two days, so sidewalks and roads are dry.

An oldie but a goodie -

No one is around, so he starts searching for the source.

He finally locates the origin and finds it is coming from a grave with a headstone that reads: 'Ludwig van More...

DoA, I'm not afraid to declare myself an alternative energy supporter but I would have to acknowledge that coal is a good way to generate heat, but I would also ask why we have this extreme weather at the moment. I believe that it is the increase of the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, More...

A good evening as I had a truckie friend drop in to spend the night, rather than driving an extra 140 miles, tomorrow. We 'dropped the hammer' about 250 times, then cleaned up and went out to supper followed by a couple of drinks and some good truckie stories.
