Kathy, you are looking pretty sporty with your smilies and all. Knew you would get there! Loving it!
G from W, Welcome back to posting. I look forward to fun stuff from you again. Thanks for the credit, but as has been mentioned, Sweta invented the Maen greeting, not I.

Hello everybody!

Bill, please send some of that rain toward Florida. We are getting to be in such a sorry drought.

Hugh, happy retirement! Just learn to keep yourself busy. Don't forget to get dressed everyday, so easy to become a slug. I know, I was retired after 30 years. Took me 1 1/2 years to get another job that I really love.

Best to all ~~~

Hugh:
I'm about 10 yrs retired ahead of you. If you need any advice on how to look busy without being busy, assuage the guilt of not wanting to do anything after all these years of having to do something, the fine art of saying NO to those who discover that suddenly you have all this time on More...

Susan - Mamacita is correct. It will be a change for you also. I can remember 25 years or so ago when my father retired - he drove her crazy enough that she went to work, she is now 85 and still working full time as a travel agent - with about 150 countries under her belt. Dad did get to go on many of the trips with her.

Drat. Got here just after the nick of time again. Susan, who got Hugh's retirement party started, has apparently folded her tent and stolen away into the night. Judy's a wimp. Who cares what time of the day it is, I'm popping 2 or 22 Stottish Scrawberries and washing them down with Guinnis in Hugh's honor. Hugh, may retirement be a joy and a pleasure.

Fiona - so far Hewitt, Nadal, Moya, Serena Williams, & Sharapova have all won. But sorry to say Sania Mirza from India lost to Ivanovic. Two Frenchwomen, Mauresmo & Dechy, are playing in the second set now. Mauresmo's signature color this year is a vivid purple!

Cathy - I travelled in Italy a few years ago. WONDERFUL adventure. I envy you. Pompeii is an ancient city (I'm talking 1000's years old) that is very well preserved. It is a facinating tour. It can be very hot. Positano is on the Amalfi Coast - and it is very beautiful. Your choice depends on what you enjoy the most. Have fun!

Eve - I like your Mom's idea! Rob's only been fully retired for a year now, & the constant togetherness has been really hard to get used to!! Lots of adaptations in our marriage, especially since, as a former Navy wife for 23 years, I also had to get used to being alone for months at a time. Now I feel lucky to be alone for a couple HOURS at a time

appy - good to see you. I know you have been around, but not at the same times I have been!
Cathy - I saw Pompeii MANY years ago (1969). At that time they were just really getting into the restoration. It was fascinating then, and it is close to the top of my list of places I want to see More...

Judy - glad to hear from you up in the mountains. I had hoped to spend all of July in northern New Mexico (12 miles outside Taos), but things may be changing. UGH - getting 'old' and having really old parents is the pits.

Kathy, Ana, and Jamie, thanks for the travelling tips. So many places, so little time. I think Pompeii it is ... I'll save Positano for the next time.

Crashed my van this morning.. Now I'm 6'7' tall.. So imagine the scene when a DWARF got out of the car I'd just hit !!!

I said 'are you ok ?'

He said 'yes, but I'm not happy' ...

So I said 'which one ARE you then ?'

I heard a song the other day that reminded me of 'the girl from Ipanema' by Astrud Gilberto and Stan Getz (1964) Take a look at the hair doos. I thought it was a Burt Bacharach tune but was wrong. There is an interesting story on Wikipedia about the girl from Ipanema. enjoy, enjoy.
