Good Maen, good people. The snow is up to my knees. It has warmed up somewhat and the snow is compressing and getting heavier. I know it has snowed more than an inch since yesterday (from looking at the steps Skye cleared yesterday) but the yardstick reads 17-18''.

Good sculpting snow. I'm always reminded of Calvin & Hobbes snowmen with this kind of snow. The internet will start to blossom with snow sculptures and forts and snowball fight photos. And sledding and skiing and snowmobiling photos. And photos of buried garden items. And vehicular excavations.

1:36 and back up to speed (or was this just a particularly easy puzzle?)

Plum, my big, burly, bearded, tough but sweet brother in law Dan introduced me to Calvin & Hobbes a few years ago via the collections, and I've been a fan ever since.

With the daring duo now long retired, the More...

Happy to see you haven't been completely buried in snow, Plum. And, what a great neighbor to plow your driveway!

I can't think of another cartoon of C & H quality, Renee. I am a fan of Pearls Before Swine. Some very clever and funny stuff from that cartoonist.

Everybody!! Wish we could get some of your moisture Plum. Been dry for over two weeks! On positive side, it's been in the 70's everyday! Many places are setting new highs!

I had no idea that Heidi was going through such a tough time.
Heidi, if you drop by, know that we all wish you improvement with your health issues. Pneumonia is no fun. Take care of yourself! The inevitable consequence of having and loving our furry family members is losing them. It's just so hard. I'm sorry.

I don't get any newspapers anymore so I'm not familiar with the current crop of comics. I used to view comics online but lost the habit when my computer broke several years ago. It's too bad as I loved comics and decorated a frequently used closet door with my favorites so I could smile often. We have a few of the C&H books, too, picked up from garage sales. Time to get them out again? Yes!!

Another snow day.
It's quite pretty outside.
Would be even prettier if the sun was shining on it - Hint, hint!

Back when I was 'young-un', (no relation to Kim) when shopping at the largest department store in town, the favorite 'meet up place' was under the clock... Thanks for the memory...

Yes, Denny, lovely Spring weather conditions here too. Problem is it's way too early. We are dry, have been for weeks, and no rain predicted in the near future. We're apparently heading back into drought conditions. Not good.

When my grandson, Calvin, was born, I couldn't resist! I brought him a huge stuffed tiger over 3 feet(a meter) long. My son placed him between the tiger's front paws for a picture. Now Calvin has a little brother. Get this, brother's name is Hunter! Poor Hobbes.

Morning all, jacalmi, the Queen Victoria building is an old style shopping centre.

When we were in Sydney, Kate spent a day showing us around. That shopping center with it's amazing clock was one of the things we saw.

Thank you all for your greetings and good wishes. My diabetes nearly got me a few weeks ago, but my blocked arteries are just having a slow effect.
Meanwhile I am being entertained by all this knowledge about snow.

My grandfather used to work in that building when it was not a shopping centre for a long while. It was a rabbit warren of offices he said. Think its original purpose was a shopping centre.

Wombat, learning about snow vicariously is not at all like the exuberant experience of the real thing! It is both magical & diabolical...depending upon how powerfully those intricate snow crystals are falling. When they are wind-driven they not only sting your face & coat each eyelash, but impair vision & quickly block roadways.
