Time to look at Sudokuland. 11/Jul/17 12:02 AM |  |
All that chatter about airline shortcomings has me a bit on edge. We're taking our grandkids and their circus trainers on a trip tomorrow morning. If you don't hear back from me next week, fine. If you do I'll try to keep the 'adult' language under control. 11/Jul/17 12:12 AM |  |
 1:57 Good night one and all! 11/Jul/17 12:25 AM |  |

Always something new to learn: The Roulettes from Australia! 11/Jul/17 1:50 AM |  |
 Good morning all! 11/Jul/17 1:50 AM |  |
The Roulettes are the Royal Australian Air Force's formation aerobatic display team. They provide about 150 flying displays a year, in Australia and in friendly countries around the South-east Asian region. The Roulettes form part of the RAAF Central Flying School at RAAF Base East Sale, Victoria. 11/Jul/17 1:51 AM |  |
 I'd stick to 'friendly countries' too! 11/Jul/17 1:52 AM |  |
Have a grand time, Jeb - the best part is those grandkids will remember EVERY aspect of the trip... yep, even those mutterings you thought were silent... and remind you of whatever part you'd like to forget! 11/Jul/17 1:56 AM |  |
All set up for whoever moseys along...CP? Keith? 11/Jul/17 1:59 AM |  |

Happy Monday! Thanks for the info about the Roulettes, Joyce!(Makes me think of 'Top Gun' with their nicknames) I have seen the Blue Angels perform a couple of times: Seattle and down here when there used to be an airshow at the former El Toro Marine Base: so fabulous! 11/Jul/17 2:57 AM |  |
Not as good as the Thunderbirds, though. 11/Jul/17 4:22 AM |  |
We have the, Snowbirds, here in Canada. Love seeing them perform at air shows. 11/Jul/17 4:22 AM |  |
 Great Roulettes photo 11/Jul/17 4:50 AM |  |
Getting to an airshow is on my to do list. Last year there was one locally but the weather was yucky so we didn't go. 11/Jul/17 5:44 AM |  |
I may be giving up on vacations. This one was an ordeal in the making. Plan A was to drive there in our van. We had been going back and forth about putting work into our van our getting a new to us one. The 2 new to us options we were looking at fell through. We went back to fixing it. Had it More... 11/Jul/17 5:53 AM |  |
We thought about driving it anyways but the repair was so it would pass inspection. Our inspection expired at the end of June so we would be fine leaving the state but not returning to it. 11/Jul/17 5:55 AM |  |
We looked at getting a rental vehicle. There were a couple of different places that had them. By the time we got around to doing it there where less choices. We waited on more day and the prices spiked. We finally decided to still do a car but for a shorter time. So, we are set to leave Friday after Cub Scout Camp. 11/Jul/17 5:59 AM |  |
We go to pick up the prepaid vehicle close to closing time. We did not know about the ''industry standard'' deposit that there wasn't room for on the card. They wouldn't let us pay for the deposit a different way or put the whole total on a different source. So we got home and called off the trip. 11/Jul/17 6:02 AM |  |
Saturday morning the family calls, and says they are willing to rent a vehicle there, come pick us up and drive back all in time, hopefully, for the 10:30 am Christening on Sunday. That just isn't feasible because a 7 person vehicle doesn't really fit 7, especially when you include car seats. 11/Jul/17 6:05 AM |  |
So, we switched from planning to finish our bathroom to going back to trying to make this work. We called the rental car company in the morning, explained the ordeal to the new guy to see if they could still get us the minivan. Not really sure what was going on on their end but part of it was lack of large vehicles and getting the number to work on something prepaid. 11/Jul/17 6:08 AM |  |
1 1/2 hours later we call back and he says he couldn't make it work. So we switched to trying to get our money back. The thought was we could rent something smaller and have less of us go. Apparently this is not an immediate process and requires a lot of review. Finally the local rental guy calls back and was able to get us a SUV that seated enough people for the right amount. 11/Jul/17 6:11 AM |  |
We picked up the vehicle, loaded it up, dropped off our van to be serviced and were on our merry way. Unfortunately we left so late that the stop at a hotel on the way option vanished and we didn't get to OH until 4:00 am. We did make it to the Christening and other than a little visit from the local fire department, the rest of the trip was uneventful. 11/Jul/17 6:14 AM |  |
But, I am seriously considering giving up on vacations. We are also still down to 1 vehicle because apparently something broke on the van while they were trying to fix it and they are waiting on a part. 11/Jul/17 6:15 AM |  |
Serena, that sound like a great plot for a movie. 11/Jul/17 6:45 AM |  |
