In an hour I'm going to my old school not as a teacher. As a doting grandma for my little B's kindergarten orientation! Then I go see my friends and tease them about not having a room to prepare for the new school ¥ear! 11/Aug/12 12:04 AM |  |

Good Maen good people! I have noticed a trend and wonder if you would indulge my curiosity? It seems many of our Sudoku family are or have been involved in the field of education. If you would like to share your connection to education here I will tally the results at the end of the day and post them tomorrow.Let me start: about to begin year 15 as a special ed para (teacher’s aide) 11/Aug/12 12:16 AM |  |
Would be wonderful wedding transport, Vici! 11/Aug/12 12:17 AM |  |
I've never been a teacher, Pam. The closest I ever came to being a teacher was running a Bible study class's nursery for 7 years. 11/Aug/12 12:23 AM |  |
It was for age 5 and under. Read a lot of stories, did a lot of coloring... 11/Aug/12 12:26 AM |  |
Oh Pam, 15 years in Special ED? I truly admire you! I tried for two years being a Special Ed teacher, got burn out. They're so needy and even though your class is smaller, it's still a big challenge to meet their educational needs. The regular lessons don't work on everyone in the class. So you have to fashion a different approach for each child. 11/Aug/12 12:28 AM |  |
Well, it's 34 years officially for Los Angeles Unified School district and two year in a private school. So that makes it 36 years as a teacher for me. 11/Aug/12 12:30 AM |  |
 Oh Keith!!! 11/Aug/12 12:30 AM |  |
 I'm a baaaaddd girl! 11/Aug/12 12:30 AM |  |
 One more for a CP!!! 11/Aug/12 12:31 AM |  |
The little devil girl strikes again. 11/Aug/12 12:37 AM |  |
Shiela, I think that still counts! Shosho, I am lucky to be working with an excellent teacher. I work with k-6 so there is never a dull moment. 11/Aug/12 12:38 AM |  |
Twenty years in the IT department of a 2-year college (a part of the SC techinal education system). 11/Aug/12 12:41 AM |  |
 Make that 'technical'. 11/Aug/12 12:43 AM |  |
 Pam - retired firefighter...but I taught CPR to the public! 11/Aug/12 12:43 AM |  |
33 years teaching before I retired 10 years ago. First 11 in a rural high school (125 students, 11 teachers), then 9 years teaching 7th grade, then 13 years teaching continuation high school. 11/Aug/12 12:59 AM |  |
Looks like a car ad to me ... what kind of cars are they? 11/Aug/12 1:01 AM |  |
It's been about 59 years of university teaching for me now. I feel like I'm contributing something to humanity still. 11/Aug/12 1:21 AM |  |
everyone! Quickly this morning.... The answer to yesterday's poozle: Jumping up and down over good news. A each for winners, Pam, Quahog, DotCom, Plum, Heidi, HalT, Greg, Rayray, Serena, and Mads! 11/Aug/12 1:34 AM |  |
For Pam's collection: 3 years University laboratory demonstrating, with some lecturing to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students. 4-5 years teaching at England's most expensive independent school. 2 years teaching delightful Melanesian secondary pupils. 8 years teaching More... 11/Aug/12 1:42 AM |  |
Here we go! Some are nuttier than others! What are they? 1. Big country in South America.2. A pod is my pad.3. This came down in Germany.4. Confection ingredient.5. Sneaking a look-on.6. Gorillas show dominance by beating on it.7. A penny in your loafer. Answers to the ''I'm shell shocked!'' inbox, please. 11/Aug/12 2:01 AM |  |
Does it count that I am married to a teacher (ESL - English as a second language) and that my oldest daughter just graduated from college with an Art Education major, that is the closest that I get with the exception perhapsof all of the life lessons that I have tried to teach our 2 daughters. Happy Friday to all of us in the USA! And Happy Day to all! 11/Aug/12 2:37 AM |  |
No teaching here. I worked as a zookeeper, and now have my own (near) zoo/ farm. I'm MUCH better with animals than with people. I wouldn't last a day as a teacher, and deeply admire those that can do it. 11/Aug/12 3:06 AM |  |
Nice picture today. Beautiful scenery and gorgeous cars. They just don't make cars this stylish anymore. 11/Aug/12 3:16 AM |  |
 Neat Olympics story. http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2012/08/10/secret-weapon-gold-medalist-in-48-returns531227/ 11/Aug/12 3:24 AM |  |
