It's raining here today. Perfect weather to stay home and organize Christmas cards to be sent.

I'd rather do my cards than your shoveling, Joyce.

My Christmas visitor list is growing. So far....daughter and husband, grand daughter, husband and 3 kids, and now, son and wife. Throw in a dog and a couple of rabbits and we have a crazy time coming up.

Off to start on the aforementioned cards!

Back taking a breather - it's no longer so frigid outside, but since it's thawing, those 3 inches have become a compacted, hefty heavy shovel full.....but great for snow-sculpting! Your rain will never reach us, Kathy!

Yum - after that shoveling, I feel as if I could devour all of that seafood platter...

Maen, good people. I'm with Joyce, facing the prospect of shoveling 10 inches of snow that is compacting into a heavy glop near the ground. We're on the clock because the temps are about to plunge, which will solidify existing snow into solid ice! AND it will be SO cold, salt won't work at More...

I'm so pleased I don't live where Joyce and Plum live, it might get a tad hot here but I can at least cool off with the air conditioner going. The aircon will be doing its thing today , we are expecting 36/38 C temperature today.

Good afternoon to all! Snowbound here in Ottawa with about 10 inches so far and still falling. White Christmas indeed!

Were sorry to hear the Northerners are in danger of being snowed in. Let's hope it eases up by Christmas so your festive activities are not curtailed.
There is still time to do yesterday's puzzle.

Just watched Ovation of the Seas come up the river and dock in Hobart.
Big ship but an ugly one.

This puzzle is an A to C up and down puzzle. You start with the letter A and make an seven letter word, and then go down to C. You have to do this by adding (or subtracting) one letter at a time and making a word each time. You can rearrange the order of the letters. Clues as to what the words More...

Give me time Peter. I had to go back and find it, and then edit it.
What makes a ship ugly, apart from such a ridiculous name. I must say I like them low and sleek, not as though they were designed for the live cattle trade.

Did a search & found it's picture... an enormous cruise ship - not too exciting, but is touted as the 4th largest cruise ship...all that size just means a whooole lot of resources being used & eventually dumped somewhere. (my little rant)

Will it dock in Hobart, Peter? Does the whole city change in preparation for all the tourists and possible $$$?

4500 passengers and 1400 crew - wow! Here's a news story all about Hobart welcoming them:

Remove the space in hoba rt to make Joyce's addy work, however, to read the whole article required paying a subscription fee, which I didn't do. I did get to see the picture of the ''ugly'' ship. Yea, big 'ole clunker.

I'm so disappointed there aren't more people around. I used to go to the other site at this point and do something to try to bring people back. I don't think I will do that any more. Every time I've tried, it's worked short term, and then withered away. At this point, I'm beginning to feel it is what it is. It's been fun.

Well Keith, I get ya. I check in about every day and play the medium, hard and often take a shot at tough. I don't post much 'cause what I'm usually doing during the day doesn't even interest me all that much and what I do do is pretty routine (spelled boring by most folks); morning coffee with a More...

If I'm looking out of my living room window at the right time I can see the ships come up past Taiaroa Head and along past Aramoana.
