JAMIE Read my comment to you at the end of yesterday.
Good luck this week, the first week for me was very long! Now I feel like we have been back for months.

A man and his wife are awakened at 3 o'clock in the morning by a loud pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.
'Not a chance,' says the husband, 'It is three o'clock in the morning!'
He slams the More...

3:10; a second better than yesterday. Pic is a cool concept car. For all you skywatchers out there, tonite is the Perseid meteor shower. Best viewing in USA will be between sundown and moonrise, once the moon is up it will obscure all but the brightest meteors. My fav Perseid was 1979, I saw from More...

Went to sleep full of Keith’s keg’s contents so I was up every hour on the hour trying to cleanse my poor bladder therefore I overslept this morning and I missed the sunrise. Walking around the financial center with a wicked hangover…but I hear we won? Again, What were we playing? I saw More...

Hi BobC in NM USA. You say 'high in the mountains;' I loved the time I was in Santa Fe as a kid with MY grandparents. As a teen, I hiked to the top of Mount Taylor, near Grants, NM. I will never forget the views of Shiprock, NM from nearby Mesa Verde, CO.

Hi Nal, I have yet to make my trip to Miami, my friend's visit has been unavoidably postponed :(
Your knowledge of South Beach will come in handy, it is clear you are quite familiar with that part of town! I may ask you more as the time grows near. Did you get good photos of moonrise over the Atlantic last night?

Good Maen everyone...3:23 this morning... That is a General Motors. The frame and wheels are the fuel/power cell (hydogen in this case) and it can be fitted with many different body configurations. The picture is distorted; the vehicle is actually much wider. They have put more More...

Jim,
Yes, NM is a lovely part of the country. We are in Southern NM and our highest peak is Whitewater Baldy just short of 11,000 ft. But you can see all over the Gila National forest and over into AZ from up there.

No such luck! I was not able to get away. Poor Mom was having a difficult evening and I did not dare leave her alone with MY Jim. The wonderful man already has a special spot in heaven for putting up with a house full of women.

The National Weather Service in Miami says:

'There is no tropical cyclone activity in the Atlantic basin'

Yippee!

jim from Jupiter....nice to have you stop by and comment. Thanks for the info on the meteor shower. Will it be as visible on the west coast?
Regarding the change-over. I have found it is usually 3 min. past the hour and it can be as much as 7-8 minutes. And as mentioned above that is 3 past midnight, Sydney, AU time. That is 7:03 AM yesterday here on the west coast of the US.

latter everyone. May Mother Nature blessings surround you

'For the mind disturbed, the still beauty of dawn is nature's finest balm. ~ Edwin Way Teale

Now you all know why I thrive at the sight of the day's early dawn.

JIM: This is one of those 'no news is good news'

...and the reason we are not having any hurricane activity? BECAUSE...we got new shutters, and I bought water galore, and enough food to feed an army. But all is good....

The photo of this car looks pretty squished. Is it real or a model?

Strange looking car, even distorted. I'll check it out tomorrow in the gallery so I can tell what it really looks like.

Yesterday's game was a kick. Great wit shown by many. nal, you were on a roll. All the stadium lacks is a time out corner and a rubber room. I fear my reputation has taken More...
