Yes, Steve, Nauset Light was moved back from the precipice quite a few years ago.

That's not unusual. Many lighthouses on the east coast of the US were built on sandy cliffs (to get maximum elevation and visibility), and those cliffs have eroded. Highland Light on Cape Cod was moved More...

Speaking of lighthouses, we've been on St. Simons Island for 5 years (almost), and I still haven't been to the top of OUR lighthouse! I keep waiting for the perfect day....

Our lighthouse, by the way, has just been surrounded by a multi-million-dollar park renovation, including the addition of a resort-type swimming pool with a kids' "splash zone". (We already had a gorgeous Olympic-size pool that had to be removed before they started the facelift.) Don't let me get started on what I think the money SHOULD have been spent on!!!

Message to newcomers (or newbies):

First, please stop staring. It's making Ian uncomfortable.

Second, some of the folks who have been around here for a while may not know who you are, so if you want to be tagged, please just say so (or post a general message and we'll get the hint!) The more the merrier around here, so please join in.

Very sincerely yours,
Glinda

CP, glad to hear you enjoyed the quilt qnd craft show. I do wish you had taken that camera, you know I love looking at quilts.

I will be going to the Birmingham (Alabama) Quilt Guild show next weekend. I am meeting a long time, long distance quilting friend, and her friend, to do the show together. Now let's hope I remember to take my camera and that cameras are allowed.
