Well, ''Good'' is not exactly true after that horrific attack in Nice. Such madness in the world. I send my condolences to the people of France.

The answers to yesterday's poozle: red (twice), olive, orange, pink, indigo, yellow, blue, brown, black, green, violet. And, from some overachievers I also got, ultraviolet, colour, and peacock.

Speaking of colours, winners Judy, lonewoof, CP, Plum, Peter, Sarah, Shiela, Joyce, and Meg receive the ''Colour Me Happy Crown''

I'm guessing the destination is worth that harrowing landing.....

The Promenade des Anglaises ... such a beautiful place. Unthinkable tragedy. We were in France in May and marveled at the warmth of the people and their resilient spirit. I echo Kathy--there is madness, and that makes news, but kindness and compassion happens every day, and we have to draw on that for hope and strength.

I am so angry about what happened in Nice. But I have to stop because I don't want anger to rule my beliefs and action. I want justice but I don't want to hurt innocent people. I know the hurt and confusion of innocent people when an angry mob threaten the loss of life and property. But that doesn't take away the sorrow I have for the victims.

Morning all, that is one airport I'll never see.

The one above was a ghost post and totally inappropriate for today - sorry.

I agree with all your comments about Nice. Such madness, and mow the installation of fear into each big gathering of people.
16/Jul/16 3:22 AM

mow = now. Instigation is probably a better word then installation.
As I have heard our elders say at times like this - ''What is the world coming to?''

With all that's happening ,I wonder what the world will be like in 20 years. I sure hope it's better than this!

Recovering with my limited mobility is all about planning your day - yes, you sit on a shower chair by fridge to eat you breakfast - using the reacher for my blackberries and raspberries to pull out of the fridge and put on my cereal - was able to pull out the milk with it. With need to tell my caregivers that I need some shorts as I am still in my PJ shorts - new fashion statement
Take care

Agree, Nice event is a horror and the western world will and should mourn, but don't forget this is a daily occurance in the Middle East., with many more innocents murdered. What of them?

1:56, this one would probably have been better started from 9. Hi everyone.

That airstrip doesn't look all that safe but compares well with those in Papua-New Guinea.

G'day every one. It. Is lovely and sunny here. Peter, the Blues have set it up for the Brumbies tonight. After the Cats win last night it could be a double header for you.

At least that airstrip is flat and not built up the side of a mountain. I agree with Wombat, some of the airstrips in PNG are a bit ordinary.

ISIS in Paris and Belgium, police shooting unarmed blacks, black man kills police in Dallas, truck in NICE and now coup in Turkey. I'm just not going to watch the news for a while.

Wombat - 'Google' Tapini. It's the most interesting airstrip I have landed at.

A great video Ian. It is such a difficult approach. Were you the pilot or a passenger? I've never flown a plane but I have been on planes where to pilot had to do a circuit to chase the cattle off the airstrip.
16/Jul/16 5:47 PM

Ian's a pilot, Wombat.
16/Jul/16 7:17 PM

CP's summed it up Wombat. At the time I was flying Caribou in PNG, there are some challenging airstrips up there.
It's a great idea to chase the cattle off the airstrip before landing.
