Wolf, there will be more, just no more medical ones.
I'm also pondering including little known factoids that may help broaden everyone's knowledge of totally useless trivia.

Kayo, I love useless information, I am full of it. Look forward to seeing what you have.

Actually, useless information is a good thing to have, you never know when you will be on Who Wants to be a Millionaire and they ask that question.
And because of all the information we get on this site, we know the answer, without having to use a life line.
Cool. I cannot wait.

I agree too, jacalmi. It looks like a heating element for a cookout on the beach.

And for today......

I live above a star, and yet I never burn,
I have eleven neighbors, and yet none of them turn,
I am visited in sequence, first, last or in between,
PRS (& sometimes Q) are my initials,
Now, tell me what I mean.

Good morning to all! Well, it's not uncommon to see those washed up on ocean beaches.
17/Jun/12 1:50 AM

As everyone is wondering, vellela is a common form of carniverous sea-life the floats on the surface of most oceans. It is not harmful to humans.

Thank you , Greg for the link to wikipedia explaining the Velella. I've been to the ocean many times, and I've never seen one. I'll be on the lookout this summer, when I'm on holidays.Nice to learn something new.

everyone!!!
I'm alive! After spending the night in the aquarium outside the little fishies but with 77 third graders! Little buggers kept me up to midnight disciplining them. Had an unholy glee waking them up at 6 AM!
17/Jun/12 3:29 AM
 |  |

Heard from the other teachers that there were some who kept up until 3 AM. Don't know because found the battery of my cell phone died about 2 AM. There went my 5 AM alarm! So I woke up at 3, 4, and finally at 5!
17/Jun/12 3:33 AM
 |  |

In between times I woke, I was oblivious to everything except that it wasn't 5!

We were at the beach yesterday evening and didn't see anything exciting like a vellela. Saw sand crabs and some kind of worms that live in the moist sand.

However at the salt water marsh we had a battle with 5 raccoons for our breakfast. Saw great blue herons, snowy egrets, some kind of gray cranes, Brewers blackbirds, noisy Calif. gulls.
