Meh! Old news Wolf.
'The highest maximum temperature was recorded as 50.7 °C (123.3 °F) at Oodnadatta on 2 January 1960, which is the highest official temperature recorded in Australia.'

everyone!
Yes, Hal. My card playing is still where we met for dinner. Not the dining room, though. We play in a different area. I can truthfully say if anyone asks what I did today, ''I spent the day in a bar''.

Not sunny - downright dreary, in fact.

I am going to a pot luck Christmas dinner tonight. My contribution is glazed spiral sliced ham. I was going to cook it in the crockpot, but I realized this morning it's way too big for my largest cooker. I will have to use my big roasting pan and A LOT of foil. I figure if I put it on a More...

everyone!!!
I just barely have less than half my Christmas shopping done! Argh~ I really don't care to go to the mall (the biggest one almost a mile in length indoor, the sixth largest mall in the US, way over 2 million square feet/way over 200 thousand square meters) This mall is a few blocks away so I guess I'll walk rather than face the crazies.

Just wrote my annual Christmas letter, addressed and sent all my Christmas cards - all in one day. Well, I am a bit late this year, but better late than never! At this point I'm a bit cross-eyed!

I'm pleased to be able to say that Arachnid's response to Saturday's poozle was neither consumed by fire nor chewed by some rampaging animal. It has now safely reached my hands, and as always a perfect 100% correct.

No wuckin' furries, Arachnid.

Has the fire danger passed?
18/Dec/19 12:01 PM

Yes Peter. Today we are back in the yellow zone Heard some sirens last night heading towards the ignition area but all quiet so probably just a spot fire. The fire went for about 10 klms west of ignition (couldn't go further coz the sea) and 60-70 ks north of ignition so not small. Linda can unpack the bag she's been carrying around 'just in case'

A therapist has a theory that couples who make love once a day are the happiest. So he tests it at a seminar by asking those assembled, “How many people here make love once a day?” Half the people raise their hands, each of them grinning widely. “Once a week?” A third of the audience More...

A Twitter exchange between a Blonde and an apologetic Domino’s Pizza:

Customer: Yoooo I ordered a Pizza & Came with no Toppings on it or anything, Its Just Bread

Domino’s: We’re sorry to hear about this!

Blonde (minutes later):

Never mind, I opened the pizza upside down :/

Arsonists!! Because they are legally under-age there is little publicity or information available. A friend who always seems to know these things has said they have all been identified and interviewed by the Police. The facebook posting of the incident was taken down after a mother objected More...
