Good Maen all. Another sunny, warm-ish day in western NC. Will be off to the Spine Center later for my second spinal nerve block.

I hope everyone has a happy day.

Mymare, I remember when my first one left the nest. He was only going about 10 miles away to college. Never even crossed my mind that I'd have a problem with it. Talk about being blind-sided!

But having grandchildren makes up for the 'loss' of children leaving the nest.
Cute grandchild story: (Sorry, but you know how it is with grandparents...)
We were talking about opposites with my 5 year-old grandson. I'd say a word and ask him for the opposite of the word. We did several More...

I take it that that picture is on Chesapeake Bay. I would like to go back and visit the DelMarVa peninsula again some day, especially the barrier islands.

all. Is this photo one of Kathy Md's?? Hmm, do we have anyone else in Sudokuland from Maryland?

Phantom, wherever you are, I miss you! I like starting off my day reading your Summary from the day before. Hope all is well with you & your family, especially your Mum.

Shiela, cute story about your grandson. You are so right about grandchildren making up for the sorrows of children leaving the nest. Mymare, hang in there, you will gradually adjust - just like you did when the "little birds" first arrived in the nest!!

Why do children want to come to your house when you have six places to go that day?

Hi Dorthea. How did your son-in-law do with his surgery? How many of your children live near you?
18/Feb/11 1:29 AM

My son in law is fine. He almost has the feeling back in his neck. The tumor had wrapped around the jugular vein and the 1 hour surgery took almost 4 hours. He and my eldest daughter live 5ive minutes away. The other two live over an hour away.

My son called Tuesday and said he was coming Wednesday. Then he calls on Wednesday at 4pm. He will come Thursday. I have to pay my house insurance before Monday. The office is just 12 blocks away, if I can find the time to go there.

Good Maen, good people. I've been reading the past couple days and letting others have computer time. I've also been figuring out power coupon shopping while trying to stave off a secondary sinus infection. Every time I cough it hurts my head and I'm starting again with the watery eyes and sneezing.

all - It is so nice to wake up & look out at the white stuff outside - a light dusting - already the driveways and street are clear. Just like VV there is more on the way.

No, it's not my photo today. Certainly looks to be around the Bay, maybe Ocean Pines area? I have friends that live there. Their house is on the water and has a dock like that.

This is an oldie, but....
It was entertainment night at the Old Folks home.

The excitement was almost electric as Claude withdrew a beautiful More...

The Washington Post's Mensa Invitational once again invited readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition.

I had my last radiation dose this week, so looking forward to regaining my sense of taste and (hopefully) enjoying my meals in the not-too-distant future

This is really getting expensive for Fiona. She may have to float a loan to pay for my overtime. Don't hold my breath, you say? No doubt a wise idea.
