Gurgle, gurgle, back to Wolf.
Oh, I really dislike complaining about the rain and the flooding, but according to Man, we still need some more.

If there was just some way we could evenly spread the water, to where we all have what we need. Sort of like, how we combine the weather, so we all have not too hot and not too cold days.

(Yes, I need more coffee).

I asked Man about 6 weeks ago, to help me take the living room rug out. To speed up my next cup of coffee, the rug is still outside. It has been scrubbed and was left hanging to dry. But because of the rain, just about every other day, we have not been able to bring it in. This week, Man has made a More...

Karen, with the humidity which often accompanies southern summers and which is made worse by the rain, I'm not surprised the rug's not dry. At our church we have a blower/dehumidifier which we usually set by a freshly steamed part of the carpet. I don't know if a regular ol' sucky guy would work; shop sucky guys are good for sucking up water, but I can't see how they'd be good for drying.

Grilling some chicken which I marinaded this morning before heading off to church. Sides of grilled red taters, zucchini, squash & onions. Gotta go check on it all!

Silvergal, that is what I was going to do. Use the wet/dry shop vac, with the hope of sucking out the moisture.
I do know better than to clean furniture and carpets this time of year. I try to wait till school starts, but my sister is coming and it has been 17 years since she has seem me live in a real house and I want everything a perfect as can be, so the carpet was cleaned early.

I don't think this is the first time, but you would think I would never forget the taste or smell of swiss cheese.
I am not a fan. Might taste good in a prepared food, covered up with lots of sauce.

One of my favorite food preparation shows is always doing things with pizza dough, other than pizza. So, thought I would try something different for Sunday afternoon grazing. I prepared a snake calzone. Looks and smells really good and so simple. M said the eyeball was really good, the other child did not seem too impressed with the creation. With so little response, half the snake is gone now.

Morning all, I have a basket of scarves and some costume jewellery that was Mum's for the girls to play with, they love them.

One of my favorite pics of Silverteen was when she was 4... I've just uploaded it. We were visiting my folks, and Silvermimi had some costume jewelry and accessories (mainly from events with friends) on hand. One day Silverguy and I got away for an afternoon, the Silvermimi and Silvertot played dressup. Silvergramps' resulting photo is on my page.

The grilled dinner was WONDERmous! I like chicken and fish, enjoy a good steak on occasion, gotta keep burger in stock and pizzas need pepperonis... but I could plan meals around grilled, roasted or steamed vegetables!

Thx for the help, Lizzy & Silvergal.

One of my basic food rules is if you have to cover it up with other flavors before you can eat it, better to not eat it at all.

I like light sauces and marinades - not to overpower, but to add flair and variety. Take chicken. A vinaigrette marinade works for a meal with an Italian edge; a soy marinade takes you to the orient; with salsa and bit o' chili powder on the corn, you got Mexican.

I don't do many casseroles because of what you're talking about Keith.
18/May/15 8:32 AM

I do like flavor combinations, for example I like an all meat combo pizza way better than a pepperoni pizza. Lots of different flavors in a casserole are fine, as long as they are all flavors I like. What I was talking about is something like liver. I'd be hard pressed to eat it by itself, and I More...
