HI all! Hot hot hot here today - might just go in the "back yard" for a swim!! Now the image of that for me is of a big stone trough somewhere between the barn and the chicken run! Hardly worth wearing a bikini for! Catch you later!

Fiona, a back yard to me is what they have behind the houses in 'Coronation Street'.The nearest thing to water out there would be what our Aussie friend call a 'dunny'!

of course, please don't look at the back porch - where one of my plants is not looking very good - didn't like the recent storms that went though yesterday.

Our garden thermometers say 41°C in the sun and 35°C in shade. Too hot for me out there.

I saw for the first time a preview for a movie my son "starred" in --- okay, he was an extra, but was on screen for 2 seconds -- Movie is "Sugar" He reported if you didn't know him you won't find me -- oh, the task for a Mother to do -- find her Baby in a "movie"

Rain headed our way later today, so if I plan to walk, I should get out there now ( or just do another puzzle ...)

We had an amazing storm last night. The lightning and rolling thunder were continuous for more than an hour. When I turned the weather channel on, the storm warnings that run along the bottom of the screen listed our little community as one of the danger zones! They were predicting extreme winds and hail. Thankfully, we got neither, but we did get some decent rain.

2:52 Hi to all.

I'm glad I don't attract random pieces of orange peel...

andré: Please tell me what is wrong with me today. I cannot understand the picture and your TFD leaves me utterly non-plussed

rayray - I don't think anyone is supposed to understand andré's TFD. She just throws those in occasionally to confuse us.

Is nonplussed the same as minused?
18/Jun/09 1:24 AM

Nope, Kathy! Haven't gone yet. I had to hard boil some eggs first. Now I'm off - for my first trip. This is going to be a three-day, two-town ordeal!

Rayray there is nothing wrong with you my dear...perhaps we are both having one of 'those' days...mine was brought about by having a piece of orange pith attached to my sleeve earlier and discovered much later...after I ate the orange.

"Alice laughed: "There's no use trying," she said; "one can't believe impossible things."
"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." (Lewis Carroll).

Thanks for your explanation. I did not realise that your TFD could be so existential and subjective. I understand now.

Nonplussed means gogglesplurged - in a state of mind outside the realm of Sudokuland and grizzlepooped
