Wow- a full 'Day of the Plum!' Late afternoon greetings, folks! I'm not sure I could do another spoonerism... figuring them out or trying to compose one is exhausting! 21/Feb/17 9:32 AM |  |
Plum, I'm still working on your spoonerisms and I think I have solved the first one.GASH SEPARATED & A FRUIT PIE TEAR APART & A PEAR TART. Well done Kathy, I think you've got it. 21/Feb/17 9:46 AM |  |
I've still got quite a few spoonerisms I could post, but I'll save them up until Friday and make it a poozle where you send the answer to my in-box. Feel free to post new ones if you can think of them. 21/Feb/17 9:49 AM |  |
This is what I had late last night when I succumbed to sleep: swearing girl & glaring swirl BUT, taking Kathy's a bit farther: pillorying mate & mirroring plate 21/Feb/17 9:50 AM |  |
It looks like we'll have to wait until Judy get's back to know what she had in mind, but I think the answeres we have received so far are all very inventive. 21/Feb/17 10:01 AM |  |
I was checking something up on the computer a short while ago and heard a noise outside. I went and checked and two very large branches of my gum tree had partly broken off and are half suspended and half laying on the ground. It's windier outside than I thought. 21/Feb/17 1:27 PM |  |
Quickie check in from out-of-state ... Second pair of words in the spoonerism ... easier than the first pair ... in exquisite detail ... a reflective device you have in your home made of a metal alloy that is up to 99% tin And, Batty ................. I AM NOT A WITCH!!!!! Grrrr... 21/Feb/17 2:08 PM |  |
And, Kathy, regardless of the insult ... ... you have a very good answer ... and I will acknowledge it as a viable, alternative solution! 21/Feb/17 2:17 PM |  |
 I think it's time for me to say goodnight. 21/Feb/17 2:28 PM |  |
This old man in his eighties got up and was putting on his coat. His wife said, 'Where are you going?' He said, 'I'm going to the doctor.' And she said, 'Why? Are you sick?' 'No,' he said. 'I'm going to get me some of those new Viagra pills.' More... 21/Feb/17 3:08 PM |  |
A group of farmers, all aged 40, were discussing where they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed they would meet at the Royal Hotel in town because there was a particularly good looking waitress, which one of the single farmers in the group would like to ask out on a More... 21/Feb/17 3:08 PM |  |
Yea, Wombat, who can TEAR APART A PEAR TART!!! 21/Feb/17 3:23 PM |  |
I cleared my head today and just came back and thought of two rhyming words for Judy's spoonerism. I'm sure I'm right about them. Now to see if I can find the other two words. 21/Feb/17 3:51 PM |  |
Oh, well. I didn't catch Judy's update, above, until now. I guess I need to just throw out sass and glass and fall asleep wondering how tin makes it into every home: solder, LCD screens, LED lights and reflective window coatings. I'm getting nostalgic for thinking tin just meant a box to store cookies in. 21/Feb/17 4:23 PM |  |
 1:24. Good evening everyone. 21/Feb/17 7:39 PM |  |
fellow puzzlers, hope all is well in your world and if its not may it be on the improve soon. 21/Feb/17 9:57 PM |  |
Been just over 6 months since I gave up paid work, and life is treating me well which is more than can be said for this stupid weather 21/Feb/17 10:00 PM |  |
