Well, it's off to the dentist for my hubby. I'm taking him but I'm not happy with my shim. Is it possible to get shin splints just on one side? The confusion for me is that when I run I use both legs so shouldn't I have a problem with both shins? Bother!

Thanks for your concern Arachnid, we have not been affected by the floods but 100s of 1000s have.

Morning all,great photo,thanks Kate.
Keith, this tree is a native of Australia. The black beans used in cooking are from a bush. The beans on this tree are poisonous.

Yesterday Arachnid alluded to the 'Wall in the Wilderness'. This is an amazing piece of wood carving on display in Derwent Bridge, Tasmania.

And what is more amazing is that Arachnid has an arty farty side......couldn't believe it.

Thursday 20th February.
Arachnid – Apparently has lost his perkiness. Recalls some of his time spent in Tasmania. Probably in Port Arthur or some other convict settlement.

Friday 21st February.

Hurray, my cast came off today! But still no full use of my left hand with a splint on the arm and a warning not to use my left hand for much of anything. The x-ray was alarming - looks like a mosaic, with a bunch of small bits of bone sort of crumpled together in the shape of radius.

Howdy everyone!
I have been arriving after Phantom's summary; surely shortens my visit!

Gorgeous flower photo, though!

Good news, Sarah? Or just more comfort? Are there more repairs left to be done or what? When will you have left hand usage?

This is just so funny - scary how true it is!!!

If my body was a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull...

But that's not the worst of it.

Joyce, this arm and wrist were broken in 1996 and I lost some use of the arm and hand at that time. The radius was no longer able to turn over the ulna, so I cannot turn my hand palm-up. All that's expected now is for those bits of bone to coalesce into at least a facsimile of a radius. To help More...
