G'day mates, here's today's daffynition:
Parasites: npl. What you see from the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Now, here's today's factoid:
On Good Friday in 1930, the BBC reported, “There is no news.” Instead, they played piano music.

Tomorrow (today now!) I am going out to the airport to pick up Rolanda on the last leg of her Eastern vacation. Sadly the weather is dismal, but hopefully it will clear up for the weekend. On Sunday, about a dozen of us are meeting up for lunch at Wings and Fins Restaurant at the Tooradin airfield.

Yesterday, I noticed the price of diesel fuel was down to below that of un-leaded regular. It was also the cheapest I've seen since last fall. Around US $3.70 / Gallon.

During the past two evenings we have rewatched the wonderful 1965 movie Dr. Zhivago. I didn't remember that it was SO long, 3 hours & 17 min.! Omar Sharif was so handsome & Julie Christie so beautiful. We're trying to brush up on Russian history before our trip. I learned on Wikipedia that the movie was banned in Russia until 1994! The filming was done in Spain, Finland, & Canada.

At least diesel didn't hit $5.00 / gallon this winter & spring. Last year is did. If one looks at the pump, after a driver fills the tank(s) on his 'big truck', you don't feel quite so sorry for yourself though. (And remember, they have to fill up every day...)

Hubby is having a 'recess at work' today, Karen.
His office is having a community service day doing yard clean-up at a teen shelter. Since it's supposed to be 88 F degrees, he'll probably need to stock up on deoderant!

HI all! Sorry to miss yesterday's riddle - busy with daughter's birthday - she is now officially a teenager although I don't think the date itself will change much - she's been practising hard for this for a while now!
Anyway, the answer to the other day's riddle was 'That that is, is. That More...

Whew, thought I would never get through to read the comments of the day.

Between the Things and hubby calling and wanting to talk, it took forever to read. Have no idea what he was talking about, hope, I did not agree to something I don't want to do.

Keith, do you think I feel bad about taking your number? Nope. I did give warning and was having computer difficulties at the time.

Jerry, I heard, somewhere, that gas prices have gone down for the forth week in a row.

Man, has to fill up his big truck, daily and he said he noticed the change. Two months ago, it cost him $900 to fill up. I just cringe, at that thought. Then I think there are 7 or 9 trucks that run daily More...
