Good morning Happy hump day in the US 23/Jun/11 12:00 AM |  |
everyone! Sunny right now. Hot & humid - 87% humidity, with thunderstorms expected. 23/Jun/11 12:00 AM |  |
 Same to you, Jeanine! 23/Jun/11 12:00 AM |  |
G'day, mates. I've pondered on three things the past day. Perhaps someone knows the answers. 1. If olive oil comes from olives, where does baby oil come from? 2. If it's zero degrees outside today and it's supposed to be twice as cold tomorrow, how cold is it going to be? 3. Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard? 23/Jun/11 12:00 AM |  |
Morning! Shiela I was still replying to you at the end of yesterday. Didn't realize what time it was. 23/Jun/11 12:01 AM |  |
 Good Maen, all! 23/Jun/11 12:04 AM |  |
 Shannon, I'll have to look... 23/Jun/11 12:05 AM |  |
from hot So. Oregon ... Jeanine ... Looks like you hold the key on how to be the first. Good on ya! 23/Jun/11 12:06 AM |  |
You are correct, Shannon. Things don't last as long because they have too many bells and whistles added. 23/Jun/11 12:07 AM |  |
 ...and they're all made in China. 23/Jun/11 12:09 AM |  |
Good Maen, all. The doctor released me from my back brace yesterday. Still have to take it easy for a while, limit lifting, etc. but at last the hard part is over. Off to shop for much needed household goodies. Y'all have a great day!! 23/Jun/11 12:09 AM |  |
I can't begin to tell you how many refrigerators we've gone through in the past few years. Or how many service calls we've had to pay for. 23/Jun/11 12:10 AM |  |
Good for you, Captain! Sounds like you're making real progress! 23/Jun/11 12:11 AM |  |
Ahh good news Capt J. Too true Jane. Shiela I now have that theme from Room 222 running through my head. Guess I'm dating myself there.. 23/Jun/11 12:11 AM |  |
My friend JUST bought a high-priced kitchen stove and it already needs service. Even when waiting for the correct temp in the pre-heat mode, it drops temps so far when the oven door opens that it takes 30 minutes to come back up to correct temp. So... Her muffins are falling no matter how fast she gets them in the oven. 23/Jun/11 12:12 AM |  |
Our problem has been the dishwasher for some reason. It was only 3 years old and the repairman told me it would just be cheaper to buy a new one. It's not like I have a huge household of family and run it constantly. 23/Jun/11 12:13 AM |  |
Jane, Niece in Michigan bought a top of the line Whirlpool (because made in USA) in January and it already needs to be replaced. Oy vey 23/Jun/11 12:14 AM |  |
 That's not bad, Shannon... I SHOULD remember the song... but CAN'T!!!! 23/Jun/11 12:14 AM |  |
Her repairman said, "That's a problem with these new ovens." Seems that if they know this that maybe they need to look into this???? 23/Jun/11 12:16 AM |  |
When we moved here almost seven years ago, I bought several new appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer). I've had problems with both the refrigerator and the dishwasher. A letter of complaint to the CEO of Whirlpool resulted in free replacement parts (and installation) for both my More... 23/Jun/11 12:16 AM |  |
Our 'quiet' dishwasher is no longer quiet. The 'quiet' gasket around the door has disintegrated - and has probably ruined the longevity of the pump. 23/Jun/11 12:19 AM |  |

It's always stuck with me because our music teacher taught us the recorder part of the music. You just reminded me I need to buy an oven thermometer - I'm convinced my oven is way off. Jeanine I think I was told that Whirlpool actually has many of it's components now made in Mexico. I've been told to shop at Goodwill/ garage sales and look for older small appliances that still run great. 23/Jun/11 12:20 AM |  |
 She's on a two-ty two roll today! 23/Jun/11 12:20 AM |  |

 Room 222 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcaUluahdwM almost everything is on the net 23/Jun/11 12:25 AM |  |
Just checked with http://madehereinamerica.com/appliances.aspx and found that 90% of Whirlpool products (which include JennAir, KitchenAid, Amana and Maytag) are made in the U.S. except for: Duet Front Load Washer- Germany (Manufactured in their plant) Dryers are made in Marion OH. Duet Sport More... 23/Jun/11 12:26 AM |  |
(How many does that take care of???) 23/Jun/11 12:26 AM |  |
HI all! Oh Phanty, I'm not frazzled but I'm not far off. Since no-one asked how my baking went last week, I'll let you know I made 72 fairy cakes and I just don't know where they have all disappeared to...I have the painters in this week and they're making a big mess. I tell myself it's going to be More... 23/Jun/11 12:26 AM |  |
See you later. Off to watch Wimbledon. 23/Jun/11 12:27 AM |  |
"Not me", said the first little hen... 23/Jun/11 12:27 AM |  |
What colour is it, Fiona? Do paint colours in France come with very creative names as they do in the US? Last paint we chose was "mayonaise". 23/Jun/11 12:30 AM |  |
To the other day's poozle - I'll give you the official answers but there were so many variations and half answers and different possibilities that I can't list everyone as being completely correct or partially, half-way there! So congrats to all the usual puzzlers and here are the official More... 23/Jun/11 12:31 AM |  |
Jane, I'm sure it's got a fancy name, but it's basically orange!! Just like yours is basically yellow! 23/Jun/11 12:33 AM |  |
heehee Shiela. Is it Wimbledon time alreasy? I thought that was 4th of July. Thanks for the Whirlpool info. Fiona, I never like the paint color I pick after it's up on the wall. I swear it looks different depending on which wall you're looking at. In fact with Sherwin-Williams last sale I bought the cans to get the sale price and haven't gone back to get them 'colored' yet. 23/Jun/11 12:33 AM |  |
Shiela, why did you spell "colour" MY way and not YOUR way???!! 23/Jun/11 12:35 AM |  |
And that last post was supposed to be for you, not Jane - she got me all confused adding the green of Wimbledon to my orange!! 23/Jun/11 12:36 AM |  |
 Fiona, "When in Rome...". 23/Jun/11 12:37 AM |  |
She's trying to class the place up a little bit! 23/Jun/11 12:37 AM |  |
 That's "brown", Fiona! 23/Jun/11 12:38 AM |  |
