Seems no one is around to push me along. 23/Jul/11 9:34 AM |  |
 Oops... Go! 23/Jul/11 9:34 AM |  |
Oh, yes there was. Who did that? 23/Jul/11 9:35 AM |  |
 RATS! 23/Jul/11 9:35 AM |  |
 Hehehe. 23/Jul/11 9:36 AM |  |
 That was fun. 23/Jul/11 9:36 AM |  |
I'll be leaving the site for a while. We are planning another trip and I need to do some other things on the net. 23/Jul/11 9:37 AM |  |
Bye HalT. I will miss you. They are doing a shoe hunt, so I am waiting. 23/Jul/11 9:39 AM |  |
Oh, I remember the shoe hunts! I still do them. Since the shoes are off in the house, I have to run around and look in the various places I usually leave them. Sometimes No No Bad Gus pushes them under the bed or the TV stand in the bedroom. Sometimes TM drops clothes on them. 23/Jul/11 9:41 AM |  |
I should have made banana cake today with panache icing. It is too hot to cook, heat up the oven and (almost) eat. Besides TM would just scream "calories, calories!" 23/Jul/11 9:43 AM |  |
Karen,The 'hour shower' was poetic licence. "Hour" rhymes with "shower".Nothing very much rhymes with "five minutes". 23/Jul/11 9:43 AM |  |
Oh, I know where the shoes are. But since they were not put where they were supposed to go I am not telling. One is beside Thing I's chair and the other is in front of the dishwasher.Humm. I am such a bad mommy. 23/Jul/11 9:44 AM |  |
No, Karen, that is how they learn. I have learned that if I want to find my shoes in a hurry, I leave them by the door or in the bedroom. 23/Jul/11 9:47 AM |  |
Shoes are OK. It's socks that do disappearing acts in my place. They sometimes stick in the washing machine or tumble-dryer; or they (one at a time) crawl under the bed; or they drop from the bundle during transport of clothes from one room to another. Sometimes they never reappear. As my More... 23/Jul/11 9:48 AM |  |
My girly girls have learned the hard way...their shoes get chewed by dogs if they are not put up. 23/Jul/11 9:48 AM |  |
Rayray, how do you tell your left sock from your right sock? I actually paired up the socks as I put them on my solar clothes drier today...still had leftovers. 23/Jul/11 9:49 AM |  |
Earthquake ReportIt may be worth observing that since the Alaska quake of m6.1 on 16th July, there have been NO significant earthquakes at or near the West coast of North America. From previous experience I find this unexpected - even a little strange. Of course I am NOT 'wishing' for earthquakes there. 23/Jul/11 9:52 AM |  |
Sarah Beth,Once worn my socks mould to the shape of left or right feet. Maybe that is because I never iron socks. Perhaps it is because my bunions are different sixes - the right bunion is much more pronounced that the left one. So; I have no difficulty in determining which is left and which More... 23/Jul/11 9:57 AM |  |
A solar clothes dryer (a washing line?) sounds an excellent idea.Wouldn't be any good here just now - no sun - just rain. 23/Jul/11 9:58 AM |  |
 Is your solar-dryer a washing line? - or is it a machine charged by a solar cell? 23/Jul/11 10:00 AM |  |
 *sizes 23/Jul/11 10:01 AM |  |
Yes, a solar clothes dryer is a clothes line. My socks look the same after a wash. These socks are all white...belong to TM...but he is a fanatic that socks match. Two white socks won't cut it, they have to be the same style. I have decided that we will be buying him all the same style from now on. I have already made rags from many of his old socks. 23/Jul/11 10:01 AM |  |
It was so hot today, my laundry dried in a matter of minutes. 23/Jul/11 10:02 AM |  |
0:00 wow, that's the quickest time I've ever done. It would have helped if I had put the timer on. Good morning one and all! I hope you're all enjoying your weekend. 23/Jul/11 11:55 AM |  |
Sarah Beth,I use old socks as polishing mittens. They are excellent for that. 23/Jul/11 12:09 PM |  |
Anne,I am not enjoying so far - it is 3.10am on Saturday morning and I cannot sleep nohow. 23/Jul/11 12:10 PM |  |
OK, I'm back. But not for long. It's nearing my bed time.As I mentioned earlier, we're planning another trip for September. I have visited 47 of the 50 US states. So, this trip will take us to Minnesota and the Dakotas to finish my goal of seeing all 50 states. (Any sudoku-ers in that area?) 23/Jul/11 12:11 PM |  |
Anne - You know Phanty is going to get you for that one. 23/Jul/11 12:14 PM |  |
Oh, Ray, I know what it's like to have sleepless nights. I've been having very late nights, which is unusual for me, watching Le Tour de France every night, and then not always sleeping that well. I hope you get to sleep soon. 23/Jul/11 12:43 PM |  |
Hello HalT - yes, I know. My times were mostly reasonable until I had to buy a new mouse and it doesn't always work when I click on the numbers. I find I've got a lot of numbers that don't belong then. 23/Jul/11 12:45 PM |  |
Anne, I think your times are exceptional. I've never achieved better than 2:30 on Easy. 23/Jul/11 12:59 PM |  |
Thank you, kind sir! I guess I enjoy the challenge. 23/Jul/11 1:04 PM |  |
I guess that was pretty lame. So, off to bed for me. Night all. 23/Jul/11 1:14 PM |  |
 Good night, Sir HalT! 23/Jul/11 1:59 PM |  |
Well, we are the proud owners of a gold fish, named Your Highness. (not sure of the spelling, so I took the above spelling).Of course, I said no, and again no one listened to me. 23/Jul/11 3:27 PM |  |
I asked, Thing I, what if the gold fish was a boy and she replied, "It is a girl, Mom, I know these things. I am 5, you know." I did not argue. 23/Jul/11 3:29 PM |  |
I really thought, I got out of going to the fair, since we went to my mother's first. It was after 8 when we left. But on the way instead of turning right, Man told me to go straight. Darn Man. 23/Jul/11 3:31 PM |  |
As for shoes, Thing I, is told during the school year to put her shoes on the couch. We only had to hunt for shoes one morning, during the whole 9 months. Thing II is supposed to put her shoes on the table, but likes to put her shoes with Thing I. That is OK, as long as I do not have to hunt for More... 23/Jul/11 3:34 PM |  |
HalT has gone to bed, so who is up to play with me? 23/Jul/11 3:34 PM |  |
