everyone, we are having a heat alert for 4 days, people have been advised to stay inside if possible. The temp has been above 95F but closer to 100F the last 2 days. High for yesterday was 102F about 39C, it is 97F or 36C at the moment.

I am however a very proud Queenslander this morning (with a slightly sore head). I arrived home from my meeting about 10 minutes after the game started and Queensland were well ahead. We did have to hang in there towards the end but that will make game 3 (the dead rubber) even more exciting.

Hello Sudokuland! Just got off the phone with Karen. Mom and baby seem to be doing well. Mom has a sore behind from sitting in bed. Baby would prefer to sleep in momma's arms instead of the baby bed. They hope to be home tomorrow.

Here's my story for the day:
While driving the kids (ages 10, 10, 7, 6) home today, we passed the bank. They were so loud when they saw that it said 100*F. That just does NOT happen around here. I think I can count on one hand the number of times it's happened since I was born (age jokes allowed) The sad thing... we don't have air conditioning so I am melting!

I am heading for Texas on Monday. My son called me this evening to give me the lovely news that it was 104° in Fort Worth. !!!!

Thanks for the update, Jill. That's the problem with hospital beds, if you want to sit up, you're sitting on the "wrinkles" in the mattress. Can become very uncomfortable. Tell her to put a folded blanket or a pillow under her butt. It helps a little bit.

Popping in for a quick hello after a long absence. We are flying to San Francisco for conference/leisure 3rd July & then on to Las Vagas 8th July and unfortunately heading home again 10th July.
