Have had a cold all weekend, so I'm staying low today. Haven't had a cold in quite awhile. Wouldn't you know it was the weekend we planned to visit my 96 3/4 year-old mother. She lives over 200 miles away, so I don't go too often. I stayed away from her as far as I could, but pray she doesn't come More...

Cannot say we have returned in tact, but at least we did not sprawl out in the hotel lobby floor. (You know, I would do it, dear).

I hope you kept your cold to yourself, Shiela. Making tomato juice? Wow. Your Mom is amazing!
I don't think I'd be able to even DRINK it by myself at 96 3/4 yrs.!

Here is a question for you all...
I have been doing a lot of Sudoku on paper recently because I haven't been near a computer - yes, I am hooked - but it has been making me do the puzzles SLOWER here! Why is that???

Well it is definitely fall in my neck of the woods...chilly start to the day, but crisp and clear, my kind of weather, can't wait to have an evening fire outside in the backyard, hubbie and I closed our pool this weekend and cut up some wood. Take care and be well all!

Shiela, I have found when I do sudoku ''on paper'' I am more deliberate. It takes longer than just clicking. Maybe that deliberation carries over to here? I don't use the timer, so I can't compare, but maybe that's an explanation.

Sheila - Have you been timing yourself on paper? Maybe you are assuming you are faster than you really are (on paper) and carrying that 'ease' back to the computer. Sorry, makes sense to me, but maybe you can figure out what I mean.

I am usually slow on paper, but what has happened is that even with the extra 'paper practice', I am now slower on this site. (I don't time myself on paper.)

Shiela, I have no answer for your question, but I got a Sudoku app for my iPad, which I love- :) Sudoku +. Great instruction features, many levels of difficulty, with new daily puzzles, and very clever solving aids. I believe it has helped me to go faster, here. I'm sure it has helped me to understand advanced solving techniques better than any other way I've tried.

Jerry has a poozle for us occasionally. At least for me. The last one I had to figure out was YOLO. I strained my brain to come up with You Only Live Once.
