Deb, thanks as always for the great stories. I just don't know if I should laugh or cry.

Well, it's a Monday what can I say...3:25. Thanks for stories Deb...read them to my seniors and they actually got them...So there must be hope in the world.
Have a great MAEN!

I've just been having a chat with ap from India on skype over the microphone. She also had a camera so I was able to see her, but I don't have a camera. It was really great. It brings the world so much closer.

Big sports news in the U.S. are the college basketball teams who have made it to the 'Final Four' playoffs in the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Assoc.). They are Univ. of Florida (HOORAY!), George Mason Univ., UCLA (Univ. of Calif. at Los Angeles), and LSU (Louisiana State Univ.). Those More...

Hi Anne! I saw a mention of your planned trip to South America. I am jealous - lucky you!! Machu Pichu is on my 'wish list' for future travels. When I get ready to plan my trip I'll come to you for suggestions! Who will you be traveling with? When do you leave?

Now that I am home from More...

Oh, yeah - nice face!

I'm so glad to hear that you have a lead in tracking down your exchange student. My offer still stands to supply contact details for Australian magazines that feature reunion columns if your current efforts don't work. I should tell you though that Melbourne is the capital of Victoria, and Sydney is the capital of New South Wales.

Good Maen one and all. It is Monday morning another day another 50 cents after taxes. Easy puzzle today, is that a peeping Glen? I think spring is trying to make its way into Minnesote, suppose to be in the mid 50's most of the week Have a good week everyone.

Hello Kathy. It has all been a rush with the trip, it is a conducted tour from here with only 8 people going. We leave 19 May for a month. I've started doing more walking to get fitter and bought myself a pair of trail walking boots, have to run them in. It's going to be a trip of a lifetime, and More...

Hi larryville! I was really hoping that KU would make it farther in the playoffs. I have so many fond memories of watching KU basketball games when we lived in Lawrence back in '81-'82. My youngest daughter was only 2 at the time, & she had a cute little red & blue cheerleader outfit & called More...

Good Maen everyone. 3:02 this morning.

Deb - Loved the stories. Pare or Par.....I knew what you said....:-)

Mary from Oregon...I am jealous. The only problem with being retired is that I get no vacations, holidays, or weekends off.

We have pro Basketball league here (no college league) but it is much smaller and not as many supporters as in the US (although there are quite a few Aussie basketball players who play for the NBL). And you shouldn't use the word rooters on an Australian site - it has a much different connotation over here!!! :)
 |  |
Hey Kathy~
I was in Lawrence those years also. Basketball games were the highlight of attendance there!
Were you in grad school at KU?
 |  |
Anne, you are very smart to start preparing for your trip now. You definitely want to get those boots broken in & your body used to lots of walking. What will the temperature range be in May? Do you have any of those wonderful lightweight hiking pants that zip off at the knee & can be turned More...

Now this is a big ask. My son needs some help writing a eulogy for Cordelia from King Lear in Elizabethan English. He doesn't expect someone or a website to do it for him - just some help where he's stuck. He's written it in modern English already. At the moment he's going through Lear looking for More...

Mel, Hi & thanks for the heads up on the Australian connotation for 'r**ters'! Could you suggest another word that would be better? How are your sweet little girls? By the way, I loved your 'ironing fairy' story!
 |  |
Supporters is a much better word, or cheer for.... Both girls are going really well although Sophie is already counting down the days till the Easter Bunny is coming. 'And since Charlie is too little to eat chocolate, do you think I could eat her Easter Eggs?' Have fun at your tennis this arvo.
 |  |
Kathy, nice to have you back and was happy to see you had such a great time with the kids.
I have to pull for UCLA. I had almost counted them out until the Gonzaga player had a brain f**t and lost the ball giving UCLA a one point win.

Hi Cinji! Don't think I've noticed your name before. Where in KS are you now? It was my husband who was in grad school at KU. The Navy sent him there for his Master's in Petroleum Management. Everyone we met wondered what a Navy guy was doing stationed in KS. He used to kid people & tell them there was a sub hidden in Clayton (or was it Clinton?) Lake!!

Good Maen all. I'm not one to usually post my times but today....1:35!!!! My best time ever by far! Hope everyone is having a good start to their week...

Dave, thanks for the welcome back. Was sorry to hear about the death in your family - missed out on the details, but know firsthand that losing someone you love is so very hard. Did I catch a comment somewhere that you are back in Oregon now?

Also, I wanted to thank ALL of you who More...

Small world, Kathy. My boyfriend then was Navy/Marines, in Engineering. I'm amazed at how many times I meet people in distant places and they have KU connections. I was in Public Administration/pre law. Now we have different careers, different spouses. I do remember once when I was a child seeing More...

andré From england - I love your thought for the day. How true it is? Could we also say the same for a flea? They are even smaller and can make a huge impact.

Good Maen, all. Must do some work now.

Mel, yes you definitely get to eat Charlie's chocolate. Everyone knows that chocolate is not good for children, but it is very good for mothers - it keeps us from losing our minds!!
Do you think you could e-mail me a couple pictures of your girls (& you?)? I would love to see them. I have More...

2:48 - not a bad time for me!

And then I saw myself looking back at me from the screen!

 |  |
Cinji, what was your boyfriend's name? It's possible my husband might have known him since the Navy guys did some things together. Did you ever attend any social functions with him? We did have a Navy Ball out there. We are still friends with two of the Navy couples we got to know at KU.

So that IS you Glenn!!! Andre, how did you know??? [cool]
