I thought originally your mnemenic was that there were two s's in bare-assed. That wouldn't work in Australian where you would be bare-arsed.

What a precious child.....

THIS OUGHT TO MAKE ALL GRANDPAS FEEL WARM & FUZZY....

A six year old goes to the hospital with her grandmother to visit her Grandpa.

When they get to the hospital, she runs ahead of her Grandma and
bursts into her Grandpa's room...

Heidi, remember that stressed is backwards for dessert! Whenever you're stressed, you reach for some desserts!

Being of 'an' age I had to look up "apotropaic" and in the process came upon another word that I will try to include in my everyday conversations today -
- depotentiate.
How my life has got so far without these common or garden words I am unable to understand!

I have now read up on - 'depotentiating pharmacological protocol' - I have learnt the French language and now find there is a whole new world in the English language I know nothing about.

I will not even entertain re-looking at that subject it has hurt my brain enough for one day.

2:10 Hi to all. Had a wonderful weekend in East Devon...a sort of 'I must write poetry and sketch' sort of moment. Actually it was to see a special little lady close to my heart. I've put some piccys of the area I stayed in on my flkr page if anyone is interested...

Thought for the Day:

Breathe easily and enjoy the moments.

I'm having my first drink for three weeks. Vodka and bitters. I always find alchohol when I've got the flu makes me feel much worse. It tastes so good I might have one or two more before I go to bed.

Mo you have absolutely, I mean absolutely, no chance in h**l of seeing any builders next Monday. The frogs go on summer holiday this Friday and they will not be back til the end of August. Sorry! You will need more than a few G & Ts to get over that bad news! And anyway, it's 35°C here so how on earth do you expect anyone to work in this heat (architect's reply!!)

THAT DOG NEXT DOOR
That dog on a too-long lead -
is of a viscious breed.
Keep clear, just in case -
it bites a hidden place.
Of those who do ignore,
he's chalked up quite a score.
With his trousers torn to tatters -
the postman thinks it matters.
It regards us as its More...
