To Kathy from Valerico: You remembered the tarpon - good memory! No fishing for me. Golf's the game. We are in beautiful upstate New York escaping the Fla heat golfing up and down hills with shade and deer and bluebirds. We are watching your temps and feeling very lucky. PS 42 years here!

Good Friday mAen, all!
We are back from Kauai and back to the SoCal HEAT! But my cousin in Arizona reminds me that it is much hotter there ('But it's a dry heat')

The post about medical checks has prompted this post...

When I was 52 I finally got around to scheduling my first colonoscopy. I already had stage 2 colon cancer. I had no symptoms and no warning. If I had had my exam a couple of years earlier I might have avoided 4 surgeries, 2 rounds More...

Mamacita, it's neither accommadating nor accomadating -- it's accommodating ... sorry to be a pedant, it's what I am! :-)

2:26. I tried Hobbes' technique again. I am left-handed and mouse that way. I didn’t even think about how most people aren’t and don’t. Finally it’s an advantage. Cute dogs.

NURN - you beat me to it! Accommodating is a word that trips a lot of people up, so don't feel too bad, Mamacita.
CATHERINE - Great story, you clever girl!! First ever picture book on our Sudoku site

Judy, maybe worthy is not the right term, but I haven't read Outlanders, I'm not a teacher, I haven't traveled lately and my life isn't that exciting. So I will continue to read the posts and when something happens that might interest anyone ya'll will be the first to know

Kathy From Valrico, FL -

I am, indeed, alive and well! I have been gone for a few weeks while travelling. I spent a week in Michigan for a baptism and family vacation - with no Internet access! Then I spent a week in St. Petersburg for a business meeting. Then this week i was up in More...

GLENN FROM WINTER SPRINGS - So glad to see you back! Hope your story spurs some people on to quit being procrastinators. When does your Gator girl head up to Gainesville?
CAROL FROM PUNTA GORDA - So you're a golfer, huh! Lucky you enjoying the cooler temps up in NY. Please tell me you're not one of the FL 'snow birds' we year-round residents resent!

Glenn, thanks you for posting the heads up on colonCA and colonoscopies. May I add a word about mammograms? If you have a first degree relative (Mom, sister) with breast cancer, you should have your first mammogram when you have reached an age 10 YEARS younger than when the relative was diagnosed. EG, if your Mom was diagnosed at age 42, your first mammogram should be at age 35.

AILEEN FROM CALIFORNIA - and lucky you having been to Kauai!! It's my favorite Hawaiian island. Where did you stay? Don't you think Kauai would make a great place for our first international SA meeting, maybe July or August of 2007 or 2008, to give everyone plenty of time to save $$$ & plan their vacations around it??

Can go home now, baby's out - even if it did take a trip to OR to do it. Gorgeous little girl. It's night-night from me!

A woman came home, screeching her car into the driveway, and ran into the house. She slammed the door and shouted at the top of her lungs, 'Honey, pack your bags. I won the lottery!' The husband said, 'Oh my! What should I pack, beach stuff or mountain stuff?' 'Doesn't matter,' she said. 'Just get out.'

Carol from Oregon, now Colorado: Welcome! Montrose is on the 'western slope' as we call it in Colorado. Beautiful, temperate climate. It actually takes about 6-7 hours to get from Littleton ( a suburb or Denver) to Montrose. Oldest son lives in Durango, south of there.
 |  |
CELIA FROM TORONTO - are you still around?? If, so, please let me know & we can meet in the chatroom. I would love to make some plans to meet up with you in FL if you have any spare time next week!

A wife was making a breakfast of fried eggs for her husband. Suddenly, her husband burst into the kitchen. 'Careful,' he said, 'CAREFUL! Put in some more butter! Oh my GOD! You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY!! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. WHERE are we going to get MORE More...

Fifty-one years ago the Army drafted Herman James. On his first day in basic training, the Army issued him a comb. That afternoon the Army barber sheared off all his hair. On his second day, the Army issued Herman a toothbrush. That afternoon the Army dentist yanked seven of his teeth. On the third day, the Army issued him a jock strap. The Army has been looking for Herman for Fifty-one years.

JUDY - wish we could have met each other 42 years ago. Bet we would have had a lot of fun together at U of Michigan! I told my husband that whenever they make it to the Rose Bowl again, we are definitely going to go! Go Blue!! Hope they can win me a trip to California!
 |  |
It's a date, KATHY! Now I will be cheering for our Wolverines even harder, knowing that we will meet you at the Rose Bowl! Go Blue, indeed!!!

Glenn--thanks for the personal story to encourage us all. My brother was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer at 46 and passed away at 49, and this with no then-known family history of cancer. He told my brother and me to get tested, and I found the prep for the test much more uncomfortable than More...

4:10, my easy times are worse than my medium times, relatively speaking! Cute little Lab mixes.

Nurn/ Galway: Thank you for such a gentle correction old schoolmaster...no red pencil needed here. I appreciate corrections, not resent them. Kathy, thanks to you also. That is one word that has always gotten me..just shows we are never too old to learn. Lots of good heath advice on here today, hope all heed the voices of experience. Welcome back Glenn and Aileen.Good to see your post anytime L.k.

Sarahoz/Littleton: I tried to check out the wedding pictures of Sean, but the event title wasn't complete enough. I'm sure they were beautiful and sorry to miss them. It would be necessary to give out too much information here, for us to view them at that site.
 |  |
Mamacita, try again. You have to set up an account on the site, but I was able to look at the pictures. If you still can't get in, I will go back and try to remember what I did. There were some beautiful mountain (and groom/bride/family of course LOL) pictures.
