G'day mates.
Here's today's daffynition:
Lovable: Affection for a male bovine.
Here's today's factoid:
In 1770, the British Parliament passed a law condemning lipstick, stating that women found guilty of seducing men into matrimony by a cosmetic means could be tried for witchcraft.

Bozo would get in line for the crown, but it wouldn't fit on his head. He forgot to do the puzzle, anyway.

Kathy, I'm happy to crown the winners of yesterday's puzzle. It's a way to participate since I didn't have a chance to do it myself.

Silverteen and I went shopping for a party dress yesterday. She's got TWO Sweet 16 birthday parties to attend in the next week, both 'semi-formal', one a masquerade. We finally found something at JC Penneys, then popped next door to Halloween Express to pick up an appropriate dressy mask.

Atmosphere at Halloween Express is fun for older kids, teens & adults. The song they were playing when we went in was Warren Zevon's 'Werewolves of London'. While there, we got tickled trying on other masks - aliens, horses, gorillas, frogs, zombies, ravens, whatever made us laugh. They didn't have the outrageous shoes they had last year though since they were in a location with less retail space.

The playlist in the store has inspired me to make a Halloween playlist of my own. I want to be able to loop it on my porch during Trick or Treating, so I'm not adding songs with swearing or hints of murder in them. There's the usual Thriller, Monster Mash, and I've added stuff like Welcome to My More...

Stop me if you've heard this one before. ''I couldn't do my homework because my dog wouldn't let me use the pen.''

That one I haven't heard, Serena. I DID have a student one year that had a project ready to turn in (it was some sort of paper-folding project) and his dog DID get hold of it. He brought the mangled paper in a sandwich bag.
Last year, MY dog got hold of a stack of homework papers I had checked and at the corners of of the papers!
