I, too, was going to question how Hal knew the bear was female, but jacalmi beat me to it.

It was a rather zippy solve going 9-1 despite the 9 & 8 needing finishing at the end....

Good maEn, good people. Home again from an intensive week and a half of business travel and activities in three locations across North Carolina.

We were in the Smoky Mountains In NC almost to TN when I saw, for the very first time in the wild, a black bear. I'm assuming it was a female from the HUGE size. The sun was setting and there had been rain so the pavement was reflective and she was noticeable and close! She crossed the highway at an ambling run and climbed straight up a 15-20 foot rock wall and sat there while we passed.

My bad. Wrong national forest. I think it was on US 25 in the Cherokee National Forest just before we got to Hot Springs, NC.

Glad to know that you all agree that I know the difference between a walrus and a polar bear. And who cares about the sex?

Except the walrus and polar bear, of course.

Thank you Anne. But mine is in a glass bottle; is that OK?
04/Sep/18 12:09 PM

I'm sorry, Hal, but as I'm not a beer drinker, I don't have any bottles handy in my 'fridge.
