everyone!

As Sarah mentioned yesterday, we have been having lots of rain and wind here on the East Coast of the US. It was funny....it rained while I was in North Carolina pretty much the whole time I was there, and, it has continued to More...

, y'all from a very soggy SC. I've dropped off the radar - Girl Scout stuff and after school activities have gotten the best of my time, and little spare time at work.

We're safe for now, but our n'hood lake is rising rapidly. Neighbors across the street who live on the More...

I hope you are able to stay above water, SG. You certainly got the brunt of this mess.

Actually, we're doing OK. Over 11 inches in the last 12 hours. And 15 inches since this started. We are on relatively high ground, so I don't expect any problems.

Hi Silvergal,
Suppose you could send some of your water to California?

HalT, Silvergal, Kathy/Maryland, yes! Could you send your excess water to us??? We would be sooooo grateful! I have saved water from showers and morning ablutions so that my plants can be watered.

I can hear your plants talking among themselves, Shosho ... ''Wow, this water smells funny.'' ''Yeah, where the heck did it come from?'' ''I'm thirsty, but not THIS thirsty!'' ''Well, at least we are still alive.''

BTW, it is raining here in Southern California right now ... but it won't make a dent in the drought ...

I'll chime in ... tank some of that stuff west.

Definitely into Fall weather here. Overnight lows of 3C to 5C and day time highs of 15 C. It's too early for this crap.

At least we don't have California's drought. Hope you get some heavy rain soon so Shosho doesn't have to share her bath water.

I've been posting pics and videos on TOS. By our rain gauge, we've had 10'' of rain, and according to the local weather guys and gals, are area has had 11.5'' as of an hour ago. That's just in the last two days - we'd had about 5'' in the week before. We still have power, but others aren't so More...

Silvergal's photos and videos on FB of the flooding in her area are truly scary. What's scarier is people are out driving around on roads that could collapse at any time. Some people are just dumb, I guess.

Morning all, I was hoping someone would know where today's pic was. SG, not good when you think you should be safe to find the water lapping at your fence.

Woof, how are you doing in this soggy mess of a state? I watched college football yesterday, watching NFL today. Aside from sandbaggin' , not much else to do!

Luckily we live on 'high ground'; no danger of flooding. We had about 8 inches of rain, but it drains off quickly. (Biggest problem: how to get the dogs to go outside! Count my blessings!

S orry to hear it is so wet on the East Coast of the US, and its no fun having bush fires around. Tasmania, the home of Sacky has quite a few wild fires and is expecting strong winds.

Understandably there weren't many responses to my puzzles. The so called Easy one involved changing one word into another altering one letter at a time and making a real word each time. My solutions were:
HEAD COLD WEED
HEAT CORD SEED
FEAT WORD SEEN
FEET WORM SEWN

This is a picture of a town in the Columbia River Gorge called The Dalles. The foreground of the picture is Oregon, the other side of the river is Washington. That's Mt. Adams in the background.
