Take the given words, and by moving a single letter from one word to the other, make a pair of synonyms, or near synonyms. For example, given: Boast - Hip, move the 's' from 'Boast' to 'Hip' creating two synonyms: Boat - Ship.

1. Rode - Can
2. Font - Farce
3. Tory - Stale
4. Dire - Cash
5. Self - Shill

Just giving you a heads up, so you are not surprised, when you read the world's headlines, probably tomorrow.

Seems my husband, of almost 24 years, does not cherish his life. If he did, he would know better than to bring annoying noises into the house. Especially, ones that go off all night long and at the wrong time.
No, I am not talking about the girls. This time.

Here's a math problem to solve:
I'd love to have a second brace for my ankle...
(The one I have needs to be washed occasionally.)
The original cost me $22 which was 'half' of the insurance cost.
But insurance will only pay for one a year.
(I've only had this brace 3 weeks and it's More...

Karen we have a cuckoo clock that we purchased in Germany and had shipped. There is a lever you can move to stop the cuckoo-ing during the night. It doesn't bother us, so we don't use it. An added benefit is you always know More...

We had a choice of songs when we ordered it. I chose ''Edelweiss''. It had all sorts of things that move, even a little ''Heidi'' type character and goats. Love it!

We have two chiming clocks in our house. A day or two of getting used to them, and you won't even hear them any more unless you want to.

Kathy, I think we have the same clock.
Though, we did not go to Germany, one of Man's employees, at the time, went back home, and she shipped it to us. I have intentionally, not messed the clock, or informed Man, I know how to translate the instructions. It has taken 16 years to get it out of More...

I told Serena I had a laugh trying to figure out yesterday's rebus. I kept moving the letters around and came up with ( I still have the piece of paper here):
(in) home prat
at phor me
mor phate
morph ate
rat pho me
meat phor
me at phor
The last one is the one that gave it to me 'cause it sounded like ''metaphor' when I said it out loud. I need a life.

Eight chiming clocks here. Sunday is winding day, yes it takes awhile. The only time I hear them is when they don't chime. All are old, most are antiques. My newest is the grandfather, bought on our 10th anniversary, several years ago today.

Just realize, I left earlier, before finishing telling why it is possible I may become a widow soon.
Not only was Man's clocks going off last night, he also set off the alarm on the dishwasher. I did not know the dishwasher had an alarm. Why does a dishwasher have an alarm? 2:00 in the morning More...

You definitely need to look for the ''off switch'' on your cuckoo clock! Sounds like you had a migraine.
BTW, when hubby gets around to setting it, there should be something on the pendulum. We have a bird medallion. You move that up and down to adjust it if it's losing time or gaining time. I learned the hard way you only move it a teeny, tiny bit!! I'm talking miniscule!!

Ours is a leaf.
It is really a dark clock. I cannot see the face of it because it is dark, but I can hear it coo.

This may come as a surprise to all of you, but it is possible I am strange. I do not find sound soothing, as some do. Do not care for wind chimes, ticking of clocks or running or dripping water.
At the moment, the aquarium needs water added to it, because, that is making noise too.

The cuckoo clock we had years ago also had to be locked up at night so it would shut up. However, when we unlocked the door in the morning, it would do all the cuckoos it had stored up all night! That clock wasn't used after that.

When Elijah was younger he woke up in the middle of the night screaming about beeping bothering him. In the morning I figured out that it was the ticking of his little clock. It went bye bye after that.
