Funny how people's tastes can be so different. andré and I have a strong reaction against avocados, Deb thinks they have close to no taste at all, and many people consider them to be a special treat. Go figure.

I honestly don't think avocados taste all that good by themselves, but they are good in a salad, and GREAT on a sandwich! A BLT with avocado is my favorite!

We need to keep track of the food items that people like and dislike, so we know what to have served someday at our International Gathering! :)

Had the 'Galway International Oyster Festival' last weekend; and though you would NEVER pay the money to get 'free' oysters and Guinness, most of the nearby pubs were giving out oysters in exchange for a donation to a local charity. Good, if you like oysters, which I do...

...when I say 'you' would never pay..., I really meant 'I', of course.

Sudko Quilt pattern - don't have measurements etc, but have seen one in a magazine and understand the basis to be: take 9 different colours, cut in squares (your choice of size), assign number to each colour, then take a solved sudoku puzzle and lay out colours according to solution, sew together. Foods I really dislike and prefer never to eat - tripe, brains, fish roe (I'm not talking Russian Caviar, just plain old fish eggs you can scramble in your eggs), beets, and any type of chocolate covered bug...ant, roach, etc.

Hated liver as a child (we used to slip it under the table to the dog), but got to like it when my mother in law cooked it, yum! And my mother was a very good cook; maybe it's an acquired taste...?

My daughter has become a 'veggie' for ideological reasons (read: teenager). But she still loves meat and has a yearning for it ...
