OK. Is it just me or does this site seem to have trouble with cookies? I seem to have to log on every time I open the page both at home and at work (so on more than one computer) and often on both the jigsaws and the sudoku ... even though I check 'Remember Me'

Hello Rolanda - the weather is lovely, what little glimpse I can see of it if I leave my desk and look out of the door. Ah, lunchtime soon and I can see it when I go home for lunch.

Kate - I had the same trouble last week after all the problems Gath had with it. Now it seems to be working okay for me, both at work and at home. Actually, my main problem was at home, probably because I had also just cleaned the cookies and things from my computer.

I don't know why Kate but I also have to log in each time I open sudoku...I never used too and I can't remember when it stopped recognising me. It also went through a stage where it kept telling me my password was wrong and I checked that with Gath because I was wondering if I was losing it. I had been using the correct password. Can be very frustrating.
Let me know if you sort it out

This woman from Albany, West Australia, moved to Melbourne with her son, looking for work. She was successful in landing a job, and immediately enrolled her son in the second grade.

When the son came home after the first day at school, he was crying and his mother asked what was wrong. More...

Love it, Ian!!!

Rolanda - just back from lunch and I can confirm that the weather is idyllic with beautiful azure blue sky and a tiny bit of coastal cloud. It was actually damn hot in the car while driving home.
Perhaps that's because they haven't started installing windows that wind up and down in our cars here in the west yet.

Fair enough, Anne, for the "mick" and "paddy."

I look forward to the next joust.

Peace and Freedom, Babe (as we said in the generation).

Gotta love Autumn.

Somehow, for reasons that I cannot substantiate, I suspect they are one and the same.....babe. Peace and Freedom.

This whole time change thing has always had me baffled. A little more light here and little less there. Who really cares? It was fun to have some laughs about it today. And, tomorrow the sun will come up where ever you live about the same time whether it is 6 am, 7am or 8am. Even if you can't see it behind the clouds.

Anne, babe, I'm in the generation too - I just found out that on the day I was born the hit song was 'Ballerina' by Vaughan Monroe (?!?!) - Elvis was a kid, so were the Beatles and Abba were being born (with more talent than me, darnit!)
I'm with you and Rolanda on the DST. I vote NO!

Why change the clocks? Why not just get up, go to work or school an hour earlier or an hour later? or am I being too simple? Would that cause loss of jobs for watch/clock winders and minders?
We went forward an hour last weekend.

I am not of 'that' generation - at least not the one under discussion! But all is relative. When my 'millenial child' now turning 7 realises (in the not-too-distant-future) that her parents were born before the moon landing, we'll be officially ancient.

I am in no danger of forgewtting my password in the foreseeable future. I am using it at least five times a day if I log in at home in the mornign and then check back at night but at work during the day and on the jigsaws AND sudoku! One log-in used to work for both!

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Every time I look at her, her bubbles fail completely. Every time I refuse to look at her she blows a bonanza of bubbles. You'd think she'd give up!

You horror child young Kate you made me jncorrectly number my post.

I can understand why QLD doesn't want daylight saving. I can understand why Victoria delayed putting back by a week. I can't understand why NSW sided with Victoria and delayed its return instead of sticking with the rest of the world! Uncommon stately solidarity indeed!

I know what you mean, Kate. When visiting Esperance one year I found I was waking at aound 4 am and the day was already up and running. At least I had time to walk, shower and have a cup of tea before Steve stirred at around 7am.

Nice to be considered young when you're over 40!

I was actually thinking about Laika the other day (I am familiar with the story despite my youth and I think it absolutely horrific. That poor dog must have been terrified).

I am having an 'I feel old and achy day' today. I have a slight hangover (not as bad as Him Indoors, who is feeling very seedy) There is a limit to how many prunes soaked in eau de vie one should eat at the end of a BIG meal which has been well washed down......
