Interestingly, the best margarita I've ever had was on the outside deck at Latitude 31 Raw Bar on Jekyll Island. It's not even a Mexican restaurant. They also have the best peel & eat steamed shrimp in the world!!! (If you don't believe me, come on out and taste 'em yourself!!!)

The best margarita I ever had was in Mexico at a hotel bar. The bartender showed us how to make them and gave us his recipe, after he swore us to secrecy. Oh, yes, we have made them at home! Olé! (it's all in the tequila, folks!)

I never said I fell flat on my face after one!!! I suffered terribly the NEXT day!!

I suppose crawling wouldn't technically be considered flat on the floor....
Little "hair of the dog" might have been in order, Fiona.

A little girl is in line to see Santa. When it's her turn, she climbs up on Santa's lap. Santa asks, "What would you like Santa to bring you for Christmas?" The little girl replies, "I want a Barbie and a G.I. Joe."
Santa looks at the little girl for a moment and says, More...

That's ok, GannieMo, so did I. There'll be another chance. Of course, 2:22 would have been a smashing accomplishment.

I figure Keith and Lynne should be home by now - but probably exhausted.

I checked the plane and it landed in SF on time. So should be home by now.
Welcome Home Keith and Lynne.

It's National Teacher's Day here in the States -- Thanks to all who teach - either in the classroom, in the house and by your actions - I think we all have something to teach.

I went to a Local Zoo today - after my Mom's funeral, they have a sunken garden -- it was full of tulips - just wonderful, I alway enjoy the outdoors and it always brings me peace. I hope you have a special place to enjoy.

Mymare: More alliterative to say "we each have something to teach"
06/May/09 9:23 AM

Mymare: from what you say does it mean your Mom has just passed away?
06/May/09 9:25 AM

Sorry. I missed the news. I am so sorry about not heeding; but even more sorry that you have lost your mum.

marraige?

Rayray, a querulous quibble:

By definition, alliteration involves consonants, not vowels or diphthongs.

06/May/09 9:42 AM
 |  |

Ian: I thought that alliteration with consonants was termed "consonantal alliteration" whilst vowel repetition was termed "vocalic alliteration" ???
06/May/09 10:28 AM
 |  |

Maybe vocalic alliteration is where the same consonant + vowle are repeated but in the same combiation. I am unsure.

My keyboard is on the blink I am afraid. I must check more carefully with that in mind.

Rayray: I think it's called "internal rhyming."

Coleridge, "In mist or cloud, on mast or shroud"

Darn, missed Rayray! Oh well whenever you come on-site, do know I truly enjoyed the bawdy poem! Kind of reminds me of Shakespeare's comedies. The dialog in The Taming of the Shrew comes to mind.

My reference says that Ian is right and alliteration relates to consonants. Where vowels are involved it indicates the word is assonance.
