No Celia we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia. We have lots of holidays that give us long weekends but Thanksgiving isn't one of them.
 |  |
We also don't have Halloween here. Although recently (the last couple of years), it seems, there have been a few children who have been around 'trick or treating'. I don't really like it but that's just my opinion...
 |  |
and there's five in a row.......
 |  |
No but we are having a good morning!!!!
 |  |
Hey Deb, I agree with you. The Yanks can keep their Halloween nonsense... but a Thanksgiving Dinner with a big roast turkey .... now there's a thought! Maybe a hocolate pudding for desert??
 |  |
this game is to cool!!!
 |  |
dessert - no deserts around Thanksgiving. It's all about being grateful for being grateful for a plentiful harvest I think.
 |  |
Thanksgiving is to me a US holiday; I was brought up in the USA, but I could never imagine that the 'rest of the world' should celebrate it - it's quite specific to North America -- thanks 'Indians', for letting us take your land, and letting us overthrow you in order to exploit it. Just me...
 |  |
Please skip on of the 'for being gratefuls' above. lol Obviously not quite awake this morning- as she reaches for her 3rd cup of coffee.

I farted.

Hello fi - you sound like you're in a bad way. Know the feeling, I didn't get much sleep last night or for the past few nights and the old head feels a bit fuzzy this morning. And I'm expecting my son and two young grandsons to turn up shortly for the weekend. How am I going to get through it. With lots of and smiles, I think

fi: Deb: Halloween is not a yank thing - Thanksgiving is!!

Thanksgiving in Canada celebrates the gathering of the havest, not he invasion of North America, and we do thank all people, including native americans, for allowing us to share their land and grow crops to feed us. We try to live in harmony, not in aggression in Canada.

All these pictures of doggies. It reminds of 2 important rules.
1. Always look at the ground when you walk.
2. Never walk in a park.
 |  |
Pete.. Just curious, did you ever consider that Thanksgiving has more than one meaning, purpose and origin??
Some would say it is Strictly a religious term, because it is found in Doctrine that was written long before Pilgrims were grown.
Some would say that it was declared a holiday by More...

Hi, it's the Full Moon, here, October 6th, I was wondering if it's the Full Moon also in Australia and elsewhere around the world, can anyone answer me, please ?
 |  |
Halloween is just taken to extremes by the yanks as they do so many things.Incidentally, how do you 'grow' a Pilgrim, with lots of manure?
Declared a holiday by Christopher Columbus, now that I find genuinely LOL - something along the lines of 'Life of Brian'!!
 |  |
As whe reaches for her 4th cup of coffee.

Hi Anne, Have a great time with your son and grandies. My fuzzy head is not due to lack of sleep. I slept like a log last night. It's more possibly to do with the wine that complimented the freshly caught Mangrove Jack that we barbequed last More...

Weren't Pilgrims grown in England? They set off from Plymouth didn't they? However I can readily imagine CC declaring a national holiday!!!!!!you're right dotty with the idea that it would make a great movie.

Candy-date from Montreal
It would be a full moon here only it's daytime right now. When tonight comes, yes, it will be a full moon here!!!!!!! as elsewhere in the world.

Celia: used to ride, all kids in area did, (throw leg over and hold on) but daughter teaches stable management and riding. She’s been a horse, pony nut since before she could walk. I’m in your hubby’s old county!
Best of luck with Comp.

I enjoy a homegrown Pilgrim, dipped in very dark chocolate with a side dish of marinated okra, sheeps brains, tripe, sprinkled with jelly babies and maple syrup. What is your favourite Pilgrim dish?

The ghost of Ian and beehive are really smelling up the place. Note the fact that they even say it themselves.Eeeeeeeeeeeew, means phewwwwwwwwww. beehive has been here before with no problem, but when Ian joins him, the place really smells. It would be nice if beehive were back and Ian were banned.
