Here's something to smile about: I had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalog: 'No good in a bed, but fine against a wall.'-- Eleanor Roosevelt 07/Mar/20 4:56 AM |  |
 Almost a straight 1-9; except for that 4 07/Mar/20 5:01 AM |  |
Hmmm, that should have been for Anne - good wishes when you arise! 07/Mar/20 5:02 AM |  |
Arachnid's description of the lady grabbing all the sanitizing wipes made me wonder what I would do if I saw something like that. Assuming she went into the stoe afterward, I would have at least pointed her out to the manager. And, I would have been very vocal about it. Perhaps a large dose of More... 07/Mar/20 5:06 AM |  |
That quote made me spit my tea, Joyce! What a sense of humor she had. 07/Mar/20 5:09 AM |  |

 Waiting for dinner I presume. 07/Mar/20 7:03 AM |  |
The theft of the wipes reminded me of a similar incident in Germany. We were in a MacDonalds, When this very elderly lady walked in and started taking paper towels from the fitting and stuffing them in her bag. She then walked out. I was a coward and didn't do anything. 07/Mar/20 7:05 AM |  |
everyone. Joyce, what a wonderful quote! Hubby & I had a real belly laugh. Great news HalT & Phantom! Glad to see you both back. We are concerned about our daughter & grandson who are flying down here to the sun & warmth for Spring Break. The shelves are empty of hand sanitizers and wipes, both at home and here. Frightening!! 07/Mar/20 7:50 AM |  |
Thanks for the tip, Joyce. 07/Mar/20 8:07 AM |  |
 I did wait, Keith, for a while... 07/Mar/20 8:08 AM |  |
Did think about embarrassing her but we live in a 'so what' society. If theya re prepared to sink so low my remonstrations would have no effect on her Reminds me of the time I was coming home from town on the train late at night and sat behind two elderly ladies. A More... 07/Mar/20 9:15 AM |  |
It is time to congratulate the twelve clever people who mastered last Wednesday's puzzle. It was a difficult one, but none of the respondents had a different response from what I expected and most had none. The diligent dozen are Sarah, Peter, Judy, Arachnid, Kathy, Hal, Joyce tom, Amelia, More... 07/Mar/20 10:25 AM |  |
 Settle down, Judy, it's only Wombat's puzzle. 07/Mar/20 10:30 AM |  |
It's puzzle day!! Here is this weeks General Knowledge which does NOT contain one American subjectThis is a jumbled 1,2,3 & 4 quiz. Peter! 07/Mar/20 12:34 PM |  |
Arachnid's puzzle does contain an American subject, so just pretend he did not say that. 07/Mar/20 12:46 PM |  |
At two grocery stores today, I considered looking for those disinfectant wipes, then didn't. Someone left a bunch of them in the baby seat of the cart, though, as if one would not have been enough. 07/Mar/20 12:48 PM |  |
Arachnid says a lot of things that it is best to pretend he didn't. 07/Mar/20 1:25 PM |  |
Might as well open the bar, seein' as I'm here. Name your poison, money's on the bar! I think I'll test the Corona's today! Well, it is topical! 07/Mar/20 1:27 PM |  |
Don't forget to wipe the bottle first Peter, then wear your mask and don't let the liquid touch your lips You will find it comfortable if you sit on your stockpile of 956 toilet rolls 07/Mar/20 2:06 PM |  |
Sarah and Peter I am hurt and offended Why would anyone ignore such a good fella as myself? 07/Mar/20 2:07 PM |  |

So if your keyboard or monitor has a sniffle or cough, you'll have to isolate it for 14 days. 07/Mar/20 8:31 PM |  |
I know of a man who's well aimed right cost his opponent a lot of dental work so the judge cost him his life's savings not long before retirement. Not a smart move at all. 07/Mar/20 9:31 PM |  |
Self defence, DotCom. Arachnid would not have had to face the beak. 07/Mar/20 9:51 PM |  |
