Rain, rain and more rain here. But at least the wind has dropped off. Very slow loading this site today. Is that because it's Nancy Sinatra's 66th birthday?

By hook or by crook I'll be first in this book.

His beak can hold more than his bellican
Keeps 'nuff in his beak
To last him a week

Five years ago a friend of mine, mother of two boys, suffered a great loss: her eldest son died in a car accident.
The sorrow was unbearable, but she bravely tried to overcome it: she went on working and always tried to have a smile on her lips, even when her eyes were filled with tears.
She More...

Dare I admit it that I wait up for the change over and go to the puzzle site first? YEAH! I always manage to solve them, even the HARD ones with no flashing red lights. But I still love this site.

Dear Linda,
I hope you & your family are doing fine.
I don't know when will I be able to have a chat again. Too many bad things happening around me.
But I keep you in my heart and my thoughts.

Please, tell Suzanne, Cee Cee, Harley and Chuck that I haven't forgotten about them either.

Good Maen to all!

Morgana! I am so glad you came back, even if just to post. We have been wondering how you are doing. . You are in our thoughts and prayers daily, please take care of yourself. I will also keep Rosaria and her family in our prayers, poor lady, can't imagine More...

Sad News

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote 'The Hokey Pokey' died peacefully at the age of 93. The most More...

Morgana, your friend will have a hard time for now. Give her more purpose, have her contact high school guidance departments to see if she can talk to the teenagers about cars and watching out for each other and thinking about the consequences for themselves and their loved ones.
 |  |
Sorry folks - that didn't fit in very well with Morganas issue - no offence intended.

Good morning all. Will post a joke tomorrow

Today my thoughts go out to Morgana and Rosaria.
Um abraco Morgana e minhas preces estao dirigidas a sua amiga.

Sister Mary Kathleen entered the Monastery of Silence. The Priest said, Sister, this is a silent monastery. You are welcome here as long as you like but you may not speak until I direct you to do so.'

Sister Mary Kathleen lived in the monastery for 5 years before the Priest said to her, More...

Morgana we will remember Rosaria in our prayers and you also. God will give her comfort. Continue to be her friend. It is so hard when you lose a child. We lost our youngest Grandson four years ago. He was 21. It was so hard, but God loved us through it all and He will you also. Love to you both.

TO FI IN NT: Thanks for your additional suggestions on preparing photos for submission! It's never too late to add to the discussion. I have seen many of yours since I came to Sudokuland, so I know that they are done well! I hope that everyone who is considering sending in their photos has More...

Morgana, I don't think that there is anything that you can say that will help your friend, Rosaria, and while fred's comment about using her loss to help others is a great one, it's probably too soon for that. I cannot begin to imagine what she is going through. I'm not sure that I would want to live either. Only time will reduce the sharpness of her grief.

Morgana, our thoughts and prayers are with Rosaria and her family, and with you dear lady, in your time of searching for a way to help.

A pelican. The state bird of Louisana! Can you tell my son is doing a project all about Louisana? Oh, the facts I learn when I am called upon to help with homework.
 |  |
MORGANA: Our love and prayers to you and Rosaria. I can't imagine losing a child or grandchild ... there must be nothing more devastating. Her sons would want her to live and preserve their memories. God bless.

Victoria, my son didn't get to make wine in Chem but it would have made the subject more interesting. I've never acquired a taste for dry whites that you prefer, they taste like vinegar to me. A bottle of wine from school is quite a change from the normal Mother's Day etc. gifts they make at More...

Morgana: It may seem manipulative, but one thing you can do is to remind her of how important she is to her friends and family, and she should not do anything to hurt them--like taking her own life. But that needs to be done very carefully, and probably by a professional who can truly evaluate the More...

SUSAN: Is a 'preservice teacher' what we call a 'student teacher' in the US? And they gave HER the job of xes education?? Over here, that dubious distinction is usually assigned to an older teacher, near retirement, who won't give a rat's patootie about the reactions to her instruction!

i cant belive its sumer already

Morgana, God's peace be with you and Rosaria. All I can say is trust in the Lord and He will comfort you. Be there for your friend, listen, listen, love, love. My prayers are with you both.

I agree with IAN ... Advice should come from the professionals. We should just BE there for someone in this situation. Love her and pray with her, MORGANA.
