That must be the 'other' Anne/Sydney because that's not my Anne's car. We know Holbrook well enough though because we regularly take a break there on our way to and from Melbourne. 01/Jan/11 5:29 AM |  |
Another archive tough that begged to have a simpler path is Aug-8-07 SE=8.3. Dave, one of the better solvers back in the day, used 13 chains - max depth 7, three times - to reach home. The puzzle can be solved with 2 chains - max depth 6 once - if one uses a technique often touted by Steve : a conditional coloring subchain. 01/Jan/11 6:58 AM |  |

Another remarkably easy archive SE=8.3 is Sep-4-07. 3 chains - max depth 4, once. Wombat, who sometimes lurks in the archives, clocked in with 7 chains - max depth 5, once, depth 4 three times. 01/Jan/11 10:07 AM |  |
For Sep-17-07 SE=8.3, Wombat posted an invalid path, so this one is as yet unsolved. Initial inspection indicates it might be a monster. I leave it unsolved for now... 01/Jan/11 11:10 AM |  |

Clever shot ... it has a hint of an impressionist painting.... a Monet??? - We just need to replace the vehicle and car park with a classy 19th century picnic. 01/Jan/11 11:51 AM |  |
