Was it just me, or was this one especially tough? I only found one 'singleton' to begin (the 7 in a7), and then I had to put in all the possibilities. And from there, I had to guess at all the doubles before I could make any headway into the puzzle. I haven't had this much trouble since I started doing the 'toughs'!

Love lighthouses. Due east of this one is Bermuda with its pink sand beaches. Have a terrific day/night, puzzlers.

I climbed to the top of the Cape Hatteras lighthouse in either 66 or 67 when it was still in its original location. Also climb some of the exposed shipwrecks on the beaches near there.

12:40 Not tough at all.

Methinks if there were many shipwrecks around, then the lighthouse wasn't doing its job.

I love lighthouses. Someday I will see this in person! There is a lot of history in that area. (Colonial days, World War I and World War II.)

Good afternoon to all! Is this light house still funtional? Many have disappeared in the last few years and are now just tourist attractions.

This is a nice area, but once they finished the highways it got so crowded that I long for the days of ferrys and swamp roads. Oh well, it's progress, I guess.

I agreed with mb, until, after I read her comment and had more than just the 7 at a7, I felt suddenly confident to use some of my old
tried and not always true techniques, such as
cleaning things up to make sense of the chaos, sort of making educated guesses as to which 4 or 5 possibilities More...

I thought this one was especially tough --I had to make a few guesses along the way and I hate to do that! The Carolina coastline is my favorite!

I think I'm getting better ,a couple of wild guesses but got there in the end.

1) Start at 22 filled, the given puzzle. Unique Possibilities to (UP) 23.
2) fc on 9's: b1 == b9 -- a8 == e8 -- e4 == g4 -- i6 == i3, forbids a3, g1=9.
3) a3=2 == c2=2 -- c2=3 == b2=3 -- b5=3 == h5=3 -- h5=7 == g4=7 -- g4=9 == e4=9 -- e8=9 == a8=9 -- a8=8 == a4=8, forbids a4=2.
4) c2=3 == More...

Jan. 9, 2008. I was able to complete it without guesses, but I still needed Dave's suggestion at step 2 to start my elimination with the 9 in b1. Very tough start; after that, it was easy.
