hi all

Whose cute daughter / granddaughter is this?
 |  |
Got the puzzle to 51 cells filled. All remaining cells were doubles or triples. Needed one guess to finish.

Happy mother's day to that little one's mom. She must be so proud!

11:42 with several guesses. good mAen all

10:08 after setup. Happy Mother's Day to all, and if you are on the other side of the world, hope you had a Happy Mother's Day yesterday!

Jenni, did you get your photo reduction issues squared away? (No pun intended)

No Guesses today! What a cutie on the horse. (The horse is great, too!)

A possible solution:

1) Start 22, UP to 25.
2) Naked triplet c1=679, c2=79, c3=67 forbids b1=679, b3=67, c4=69, c5=679, c9=679. UP 27.
3) Naked triplet a4=369, b4=369, a6=36 forbids a5=369, b5=369. UP 39.
4) a6=3 == a4=3 -- d4=3 == d4=6 -- d3=6 == d3=4 -- d8=4 == f8=4 -- f5=4 == More...

I made an error on my last step. It should be i1=7 == i1=8 -- e1=8 == d12=8 -- d8=8 == d8=4 -- d3=4 == d3=6 -- c3=6 == c3=7 -- c2=7 == c2=9 -- f2=9 == f7=9 -- h7=9 == h7=7 forbids h2=7.

Good maEn. First time I've fifnished the difficult without any guessing. Happy Mother's Day.

To Fi from Darwin and Jill from Tacoma - no, haven't 'got ' it yet - still not sure how to reduce the resolution on a pic in my file so it is well under 50 Kb. Thanks for the replies, will try again later today, after Yoga!

Start 22F UP to 25F.
1. 679 in c123. UP to 27
2. 369 Bb5. UP to 39.
3. g8=4==d8=4--d3=4==d3=6--d4=6==d4=3--f5=3 ==g5=3--g6=3==g6=5 forbids g8=5. UP to 43.
4. g8=4==d8=4--d3=4==d3=6--d4=6==d4=3--f5=3 ==g5=3 forbids g5=4. UP to 51.
5. h7=7==h2=7--c2=7==c2=9--f2=9==f7=9 means no 9's in R7 ==> h7=7. UP to 81.
 |  |
Clark,
I think a combination of both of our techniques works best. Your step 4 does what my 3 and 4 do. (BTW typo..should be g8=4--g5=4==g5=3 forbids g6=3. Also, I think you had to eliminate 5 from g5 from locked 5's bc5, otherwise g5=345.) And my final chain is shorter. But I'm like More...
 |  |
maEn all! She's a cutie! I went to the horse races today, but never picked a winner.
 |  |
Sundance,
Thanks for pointing out those problems in my proof. You're right on both counts. Here is the correct version of my proof:

1) Start 22, UP to 25.
2) Naked triplet c1=679, c2=79, c3=67 forbids b1=679, b3=67, c4=69, c5=679, c9=679. UP 27.
3) Naked triplet a4=369, b4=369, More...
 |  |
Sundance,
You don't need the chain in step 3 of your proof. If you perform the chain in step 4 there you're left with a naked pair to do the work of step 3. Making that change produces the following very nice proof:

1) Start 22, UP to 25.
2) Naked triplet c1=679, c2=79, c3=67 More...

cute little girl
congratulations on the great site Gath and Kym. Keep it up :)
 |  |
Clark,
Well done. My chains in steps 3 and 4 were almost identical. I should have seen the redundancy. Two heads are definitely better than one.
 |  |
Too many guesses for this one.

That was fun to work my favorite puzzle and see my daughter. This was taken about a year ago at 2 1/2. Boy, did she have fun!!!

Forgot to restart timer after an interruption, but I wasn't a good time anyway. Missielely your daughter is gorgeous.
 |  |
Haven't heard anything about the photo size issue!
 |  |
I'm new to this site & Sudoku, but my sister made me come to see the picture of my niece!
 |  |
A very sad 24:23. Had to resort to guesses, and then found a few rather serious set-up errors. Ah well, will have to do better next time...
 |  |
This must have been easy for a tough one as it all came out during the setting up!!

Great photo, missielely from Kansas, glad to know that she enjoyed her ride as she doesn't look real sure about it in the pic!!

Good mAen everyone!!
 |  |
oye oye.. easy for a tough....absolute beauty..enjoyed doing it.simple methodical solving just that..
its a joy when you complete one w/o guessing!
cheers

19.31 - Golly, I found this really difficult, probably because I'm tired, grumpy and stressed!
Done too much today, my MS doesn't usually effect me too much but today it has.
That's enough griping, your daughter is gorgeous missielely. Happy tomorrow everyone.
