Later discovered to be a brushtail possum! After about three nights of nocturnal bumps and crashes that were definitely internal to the house! 16/Oct/09 12:18 AM |  |
Thanks for the added info, Kate! I was trying to figure out what could have sunk it's teeth into all of the fruit and not eaten one whole piece! 16/Oct/09 12:21 AM |  |
Start UP26. Note pair 34 at gh3. Potential unique rectangle at gh35 means either g5 or h5 = 5. So remove other possible 5s in that square and line means i6=1 and c4=5 and then b4=1 & domino effect to UP46. D8=2 or no 2 in that column. Domino effect again UP81! 16/Oct/09 12:34 AM |  |
Are you sure it wasn't one of the kids, Kate? Didn't the possum leave other ... eh ... evidence? 16/Oct/09 1:15 AM |  |
Kiddo present and accounted for during nocturnal (noisy) ramblings ... and, finally, culprit apprehended and evicted (well, left alone to consider that leaving through the now open window would be a great solution all round). 16/Oct/09 1:47 AM |  |
Kate, The very least your possum could do was finish his/her meal! Before you were doing these puzzles, would you have thought to photograph the evidence? I'm looking at the world a little differently since I started doing them. 16/Oct/09 1:48 AM |  |

Trick and treat at the same time. 16/Oct/09 3:58 AM |  |
 Hi Kate.Neat quick solution.At UP46,d8 is the only place for 2 in column d.So the dominos don't stop.They fall all the way to UP81!Regards,Alfred. 16/Oct/09 6:02 AM |  |
