14:41 Finally got there!
 |  |
All of his life George from Newfoundland had heard stories of an amazing family tradition. It seems that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all been able to walk on water on their 19th birthday.
On that day, they'd walk across the lake to the boat club for their first legal drink. More...

Furious and confused, George went to see his grandmother. 'Grandma, it's my 19th birthday, so why can't I walk across the lake like my father, his father, and his father before him?' Granny looked into George's eyes and said, you dummy, your father, grandfather and great grandfather were born in January, you were born in July.'

Yeah - took me almost 20 minutes, and that included a couple of guesses. It turns out they were right, but they were guesses just the same. I'm too tired to force the logic. Freezing rain predicted, so I got up two hours earlier than usual in order to make it to town without worrying about going off the road. Time for a catnap before appointments begin arriving. Good Maen, all.

9:21 - all that work for another repeat picture. Sometimes it doesn't seem worth it. Good Maen, all.

16:32 candles again

18.04 one BIG mistake, probably was really heplful.

9.32 - a bit challenging ;-)

I got it

Good Maen! Ah, candles - light and warmth. Good joke.
 |  |
Had to use a '3-deep' sequence of contradictions on the middle left block (no using 'check move'!) to solve this one. Very tedious.
 |  |
First time to try the tough puzzle. Didn't time but did use check moves three times. Logic is improving! Good Maen from temporarily warm northern Ohio.

hi simone!

EAsiest day ever, 4:03 for this one

Okay, I haven't even done the puzzle and I know that I will be disappointed at the end. I submitted a ton of pictures for the Hard, so I'm not sure why they aren't showing up. Oh well,, I'll

finish what I was saying. Ill go to do the puzzle now knowing. Maybe I won't set the time and actually study it. See you all tomorrow.

13:04 but guessed twice--no motivation to stick with it. Oh well, perhaps I'll be blessed with better logic on Monday. Have a great weekend, everyone!
 |  |
8:58 - with two correct guesses! I was lucky this time!

Hi, Simone! Welcome!

Do you think I overuse exclamation points?!?!?!?

30:02... stuck with it

TJ is a genius.

The groundhog saw his shadow here in WI and, sure enough, we are now having winter! A big storm is bearing down on us and we can expect very cold temps this weekend. BRR! Hopefully, we will not get the 20-some inches as the eastern states.
 |  |
Very pretty repeat picture and easy tough!
 |  |
So much for my brain power. I just can't get these puzzles lately; I've gone back to my sudoku book to enjoy the challenge (I'd like to see TJ do a tough/demanding puzzle not on the computer, in record time!)
Evvie, we had over 26' of snow in a 24 hour period. And now it's all melted with the balmy 60F heat wave. Gives new meaning to the word 'Mush'

'Appy mAen, everyone.

6:36 total minutes, 4:23 to set up; so 2:13 to solve.

i play every level, every day and i have never left a comment before. So...hello everyone
 |  |
Glad to meet you Semra!
 |  |
stuck at 30
 |  |
Easy hard--lots of 4/9 pairs left at the end. Welcome semra from NY. It's a smart, fun website, so hope you enjoy it.

 |  |
Sweetie, don't give up. I think many have gone through a low point--I couldn't get the easy ones to work right for a week earlier this month!
 |  |
Good MAEN to one and all!
This puzzle seems just as difficult as the one of a couple of days ago. I have found a handful of difficult eliminations, but am still stuck at 30 filled. Any realistic suggestions towards a reasoned solution would be much appreciated.
 |  |
Evvie, we had 18 inches of snow last Sat/Sun, but it was almost 60 degrees today... (still some snow in shady areas, but what's left is melting rapidly). It was good to have snow after an unseasonably warm January.
 |  |
Rather like Semra - most levels, most days - First comment Good maeN everyone.

got to 34 filled by using the doublet method,at 30 i have the whole center box filled in and a6, looking at the center column of boxes i.e. c4 thru c6 i was able to deduce that the couplets are 8,1 only other choice is 5,4 and i was able to prove that wrong. this gives e3, f3, d7 and f7 being 4,1,1,3. am stuck here

Steve, see above comment it was written in reference to yesterdays comments
 |  |
Hi Mark!
I am a bit confused (normal lately with these recent puzzles!) At any rate, I think that yesterday's puzzle was not as bad as todays. I also think, that if you care to, that I gave my full method towards that solution. However, it took more than one post as the proof is a bit long. Where is gb? We could really use an expert....
 |  |
Steve from Ohio: I'm stuck at 30, too (this morning). Have some inconsequential (so far) eliminations, but this baby is going to take trying every possible multicolored fc or other elimination trick one at a time. If we crack it at all (without guessing) it may take a collaborative effort. I'm going home now and will get on it again after dinner.
