9:51 A good time for me
 |  |
14:30 - about half my usual time! had one either/or guess at about 53 filled.
where is the pagoda?
 |  |
My time was 6:08! But look at my name....
 |  |
At53: if g9=2, e9=7 and e6=8
if h8=2, h6=7 and e6=8
 |  |
Straight through with no FCs- either I am getting better or had a lucky accidental guess!
 |  |
I couldnt get past 53 without a FC, but it's late, the guests have gone, and I have to hold my eyelids open. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow when my eyes will stay open on their own....'night everyone.
 |  |
Hi everyone! Peter from NZ if you did ok take the credit! it's your brain power lucky guess or not.
 |  |
I have been doing these for a while now, with the help of gb's clues.... thanks! Just a quick question...

What does FC mean?
 |  |
23:20 on paper, with correct timing via stop watch.

i still do not get a1, a7 c1 etc and what does fc stand for? football cup is the only family expression i can think of. although the other expression is often used as a descriptive term of a painful person.
( still cannot do this level on line !!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr )
cheers

jvc and Happy, To learn the lingo follow HH's instruction. I'll repeat it for you. 'To all those who don't understand the lingo - go to Proofs at top right of page, click on it and you'll see a link to Bruno's proofs. bruno is aka gb and is our resident guru'

16:07 I suppose it was easy.

I can't believe it! I finally succeeded in finishing a tough without any cheats. All pure logic.Didn't time myself but took more than 30 minutes. Who cares? I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 |  |
It gives me satisfaction that Fee, Valy and others did not need FCs either- perhaps mine wasn't an accidental guess after all! Trouble with improvement is that I now get them finished in my lunch hour and so nothing for the evening! Going to the film of Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe to celebrate! Tomorrow who knows- maybe King Kong! All the rage here so no seats yet!

WIll you submit pix of the lambs when they arrive?
 |  |
Lol second night getting stuck at 53 and having to resort to gb's clues to solve. How do you spot which FC will work?

it took unusual time to be solved because of some mistakes! Not very advanced techniques are needed, other perhaps of recognising hidden triples
 |  |
17:26 I finally break 20 on a Tough, and it's an archive so no one knows! No guesses, either. Ah, well.

First time player. Printed out the four puzzles 19Dec'05. Took on business trip. Spent probably about 10 hours on the 'Tough' one and agree it is really tough. Used up lots of pencil and eraser. Got into elaborate logic. Solved finally. Will need to read some of the logic that allows solving in less than 15 minutes.
