The buildings looked very "Irish" as the photo was coming into focus. Lovely looking village.

Just want to say you guys must be so smart to figure out this 'hard' puzzle.
I can manage the easy but so far have not managed to finish a medium.
I assume that is the time it has taken you to do the puzzle underneath your names?

That is my photo of Belleek, in Northern Ireland. It is taken out the window of the hotel where we were staying. It is just across the road from Belleek Pottery.

For me, too tough for puzzle today...

Hint: a fc in 1's in a very common pattern

- it helps to use a visualiser/highlighter to see how the 1's are laid out.

Best to all

A lot of it is just practice Elise!! At least you are brave enough to venture on to the 'tough' page, it took me months to get that far!!

I spent all afternoon & still haven't solved it.
I'm up to 30 and stuck. I'm probably missing an obvious chain otherwise how did everyone else solve it so quickly? Can anyone help?

Hi Nick & Neil,
Me too...! I've just come to below (for refering), I'll try to finish it soon :

Start at 22, basic techniques UP24 (note : pairs 17 at a79 & d4f6, 78 at c46)
1) X-Wing on 6’s : fg28 => f17g3<>6 => pair 26 at e3f2
2) (ht134)f789=(6)f8 – More...

Hi ttt
I lost you at step 5: I show h2 as starting with 4. I also can't follow your step 7: I can't seem to be able to eliminate 5 from c8.

Hi Nick,
Step 5 : g2<>8 - not h2<>8, sorry for typo
Step 7 : (5)b79=(5-6)b1=(6)b3 – (6)e3=(6-5)e7=(5)bc7 => c8<>5
- If b79=5 => c8<>5
- If b79<>5 => b1=5 => b3=6 => e7=6 => e7<>5 => bc7=5 => c8<>5

Thanks ttt. I now follow up to step 12, where I get lost again. Can you make it a bit clearer?

Is there anywhere that explains the shorthand used for the tips on how to figure out the harder puzzles? I have no clue what any of it means! LOL
