Hi Kaz,
I have no time for sudoku at this very moment, but had a glance at this one. It's really tough.
Here is a possible approach :
1) fill to 28
2) e89=4 (depth 1)-> fill to 29
3) eliminate e9=4, e8=1 (depth 4, start with 1s in R1)->fill to 30
4) eliminate g4=5 (depth 4, start with 1s in Be8)->fill to 31
5) eliminate h9=1 (depth about 15...)->fill to 81.

8.41 straight forward solution
have agreat day/night one and all
stay safe in TNQ
the cyclone has hit Innisfail in Nth Queensland and info coming out is severe damage

G'Maen cobbers - 11:50 is amazing for me. Maybe doing it in morning not after work is better. Best wishes to all in North QLD. I'm listening to News Radio for updates, but it does sound very nasty up there.

Took me about eight minutes overall, three and one half for setup, and four and one half to solve. Harder than the usual Toughs, but somehow I didn't find it interesting. Maybe I am getting blase'?

First time to post--love to read the comments.

Make levees not war.

best wishes for all waiting out TC Larry. For our Northern Hemisphere friends, TC Larry was category 5 last I heard (2 hours ago), and predicted to be on par with Katrina. HOpefully not as much damage! And the next cyclone is already on its way for later in the week.
 |  |
Took me half an hour and I had to guess because I was running out of time. That was seriously tough.
 |  |
 |  |
Horrendous time! Too many guesses!My prayers for safe keeping for those in Larry's path.

With all due respect to those who post short times and comments on the ease of puzzles like this, would you please favor the rest of us with your proofs. Otherwise your boasts are meaningless. Remember, you haven't solved a puzzle until you have proved that yours is the only solution. Solving a puzzle means finding all of its solutions.

Wheeeeeee! 10:24 Please let it be that I'm getting better and not sheer dumb luck.

DJ, What do you mean by 'finding all of its solutions'? Is there more than one way to finish each of these and do we have to do them each way before we are allowed to post? And I don't understand any of the proofs that are offered... it's all just gobble-e-gook to me.
 |  |
hi rose iam with you regarding this proof biz.

Hello all!
I was out of town today, so did not get to look at the puzzle until late. AT least a bit challenging today! Hope to see some improvements on this ugly solution:
1) Start at 23 filled. Unique Possibilities to 28.
2) Locked 4's forbid 4 at d8, f78. UP to 29.
3) Swordfish on More...
