A path:

1) Start at 23, bassic techniques to UP=30
(note np: g18=58, h28=17)
2) Coloring(2):g56=g7-i8=f4, -->f56<>2, UP=59
3) XW(7) atb28-h28, -->ac2,i8<>7
4)AUR(58) at gi18, -->h2<>7, UP=81

sotir,

I believe your conclusion in step 2 is invalid. One can show that 56g2==8f2, but this does not prove that 56f<>2.

Suppose that 8f<>2. Then either 5f or 6f must be 2.

Justin and sotir, I agree with justin. many of your proofs do not eliminate what is claimed unless i am wrong. please explain. chief

Hi Justin and Chiefmsb,
The explanation for second step is very simple:
Two endpoints of the chain:g56=2==f8=2 (sorry,I have
Written by mistake f4).
If g56=2,-->f56<>2
If f8=2 ,-->f56<>2
So,in both cases f56<>2.
Regards, Sotir

sotir, your reasoning is a mystery to me. you can'tlook at g56 as a unit. if g5 is a 2 f6 can be a 2.

Hi Justin and chiefmsb,
I want to apologize to you for my rash response.
Your explanation was very clear. Step 2 is invalid.
I'll try not to make this kind of mistakes.
Thanks for your help.
Sotir.

sotir, no problem but many of your proofs have this type of reasoning. whenever you have two numbers side by side in a box they don't 'cancel out' two numbers side by side in an adjacent box. the same goes for chains as well. chiefmsb
