Trendsetter! No Guesses. Picture is of two bridges somewhere |  |
Is that the Golden Gate bridge? |  |
 Once again !Take yesterday's puzzle. Exchange rows 2 and 3,1 and 2, 4 and 6, 7 and 8, 8 and 9 (row1=bottom); exchange columns 2 and 3,1 and 2, 4 and 6, 7 and 8, 8 and 9(column 1=left). Then replace numbers this way : 1->3->6->1,2->4->5->2,7->9->8->7. What do you think you get? |  |

hey this was loads easier than today's medium - took me three minutes less with only two good guesses! |  |
 Wow - under 10 minutes and I got a pic of a hummingbird |  |
I gave up on yesterday's puzzle, but did today's without guesses. If I have to guess, I don't finish, as there is no point in doing it (for me anyway).Perhaps I should have a go at yesterdays again. |  |
 Very simple!!! |  |

 4:22. Peter.....no, I don't cheat. But notquite the savant I was last night. |  |
Hi, dear BW, today's and yesterday's are equivalent : you can automatically transform your proof of today's into a proof of yesterday's. See my comment above and another on yesterday's comments. See also on my sandbox (follow links from 'proofs' link here) a solution of 09/12's, also equivalent with today's and yesterday's. |  |
gb,Mine weren't the same for today and yesterday. Why not just enjoy sudoku? |  |
 Hmmmmmmmmmmm |  |
Dear Judy,Do you sometimes try to write a proof of uniqueness for the solution of a sudoku? which for me is the only way I enjoy them... it's time consuming but rewardful. So before going on long proofs, I check that I'm not going to 'reinventer la lune' as we say in french, i.e. find again More... |  |
continued...'réinventer la lune' once or twice. As I already pointed, the sensation then is much alike realizing in the middle of reading an Agatha Christie novel that you've already read it years ago : suddenly you remember who is the murderer and the interest lowers badly. Now I better save More... |  |
gb,Reinvent the moon? I admit I don't know much French, but here we say reinvent the wheel. Glad you are enjoying sudoku, and thanks for your comments. Have fun. |  |
Finished in 5:02 today. Blazing... this one was fairly easy. |  |
I see there are lots of pros here. I tried one of these tough puzzles once or twice and it seems to me that they can only be solved if you take guesses. I don't find that satisfying. Can one of the pros in here tell me if I am right or not? Thanks |  |
Awesome photo, great sky in the back ground, humming bird is nice also. Off to work I go. Have a great day |  |
Hi TGIFridee, see some complete proofs on 'proofs' link, top-right of this page. Until now 'guessing' has always been able to reduce to :'Now we have only 2 possibilities : p1 or p2. Wether p1 or p2, we always obtain the same result r'. (For instance this is the way one can justify an Xwing More... |  |
Hi jh,you're right : in France we also say 'réinventer la roue'=reinvent the wheel, but isn't the other way much more poetic and nonsense-ic? |  |
 22:04 I find these tough ones ........Tough |  |
10:24 first try on tough.less than 6 mins must be a cheat.Or using check moves button. Its just not playing cricket... i mean suduko. |  |
13:13!! Best tough time ever, but I don't understand proofs? i just do the puzzle. |  |
Over 20 Mins tonight!!!!!! Must be losing my touch now. Bucko it would be great if you could prove how you manage to do these so quickly!! It takes me at least 5 mins just to work out the initial possibilities |  |
17 mins but Ty Pennington was distracting me! |  |
1:29:23 Oops! Forgot to pause the timer when the plumber arrived. |  |
5:11 i seem to do better on the hard and the tough than i do on the medium and easy. don't have a clue as to why. love the pix. 'my' hummingbirds are still here. latest they have ever been here. |  |
 7:46, no guess! Yes! |  |
