Therapy for Charlie?
 |  |
A simple proof today:

1) Start 22, Unique Possibilities to (UP) 27.
2) x-wing: 6s at ae2, ae8 forbid e3457=6.
3) c2=1 == c2=4 -- c7=4 == b7=4 -- b7=6 == df7=6 -- e8=6 == e2=6 forbids e2=1. UP 81.
 |  |
This one must have been easy for a 'tough' -- I didn't need any guesses!

'Charlie's bucket'?
 |  |
Good Maen to all! So who is Charlie, and why did he forget to take his bucket home from the beach?? Life's little mysteries!
 |  |
Until someone comes with a better one, here is my proof:
1. Start at 22. UP 27
2. Locked 4s in row 2, elim in Bb2
3. Triple: c8=g8=i8=178, elim in row d9=7, e3=7
4. Locked 8s in Be8, elim in row
5. Xwing: a8,e8,a2,e2=6 => e456<>6
6. Locked 3s in col d, elim in Be2
7. More...

What the heck is Charlie's Bucket? Good mAen

Another puzzle requiring only one non-native elimination:
1) Start at 22 filled - the given puzzle. Unique Possibilities to 27 filled. (UP 27).
2) a8=6 == a2=6 -- a2=4 == c2=4 -- c7=4 == b7=4 forbids b7=6. UP 81
Sets: 3. Depth 3. Rating .07 - very easy.

23:34...that bucket has seen better days!!
 |  |
Are the sculptures a permanent display, or is this a temporary exhibition?

Today's tough was easier for me than usual - 0 guesses.
 |  |
Interesting sculpture!
 |  |
4:37 that one was really easy
 |  |
Maybe a reference to charlie and the chocolate factory?

Charlie's Bucket Ha!!! That just doesn't hold water.Looks more like Charlie's got a screw loose.

sorry to ask a silly question but can anybody explain to me the cell co-ordinates used in your comments, i must be missing something
 |  |
Hi Frank!

Here we use 'chess board' notation:
Bottom left corner is a1, top right corner is i9.
Rows are 1 - 9, bottom to top.
Columns are a - i, left to right.

nic, I am new to this site and the use of forcing chains. In your proof, the first forcing chain eliminated the 1 in a9, but did not seem to lead anywhere else. The second forcing chain broke the puzzle open.

Two silly questions: one, how do you efficiently choose which chain to follow; two, when following a chain, how do you efficiently decide which results to catalouge?
