Goooooood mean sudokuers
I can't believe I am first. Have a great day!

A man and a woman, who had never met before, but are both married to other people, found themselves assigned to the same sleeping room on a transcontinental train. Though initially embarrassed and uneasy over sharing a room, they were both very tired and fell asleep quickly... him in the upper bunk More...

I'm awfully cold.'

'I have a better idea,' she replied. 'Just for tonight, let's pretend that we're married.
'Wow! That's a great idea!' he exclaimed.
'Good,' she replied. 'Get your own f**king blanket!'

Funny!!! and a little too true
 |  |
1) easy fillings to 27 filled
2) easy tools to 43 filled
3) Considering 7s in row 2, eliminate g7=5. Then easy fillings to the end.

5:59 after setup - slow this morning! Good MAEN, all, and hope you have a great day. That puppy looks all tired out...
 |  |
Fate was tempted big time, as a consequence, no time posted. All that's left to say is mAen.

Hints for today's:
It's easy to get down to having 38 left. Then, checking whether the bottom row 4th column is a 2 or a 9 is the key to finishing.
I usually try one with pencil and paper and look for a contradiction, if any.
 |  |
A reasonable efort on my part.
And that puppy is a kitten!
 |  |
yes.i did it.thanks to gb/france.happy i could follow the clue.for the first time!well i finished it in 12 mts.flat.and no mistakes!feels good.
 |  |
Horrid time - well over 20 minutes with lots of errors and guesses. Fog has developed into full thickness cloud. Think I'll off to bed... night all.
 |  |
that puppy got the same fish as the cat
 |  |
Good maen. Not so bad today; easy to 43 filled and then a forbidding chain in Bh8. Then easy to end.
 |  |
Sarah, you probably heard this one, but in the interests of equal time:
A plane loses an engine and the pilot announces that it is going to crash into the sea. A woman jumps up and says, Oh no! I have wasted too much time! I need a man to make me feel like a woman!
A man stands up and says More...

Oops!
Spelling error!
Should read 'effort'
Sorry!

Hey all- Goood MAEN!! 10:15 for me. Made one favorable mistake. Rainy in Utah today--Resorts getting feet of snow--yeah. Cute puppy. Yes-the joke is funny--ROTFL.
 |  |
to MELI from Florida - I like it
 |  |
Hay folks - it is the Cat from the Hard puzz! Not a doggie! Difficult puzzle today for me. Forgot to turn the timer back on after letting the dog in. Aussiemike - how did you get to Maryland (US?)? Or does the OZ have a Maryland too?
 |  |
What a great picture of a ...puppy!
 |  |
Or is it a cat?
 |  |
more precise hints :
1) easy fillings to 27 filled.
2) eliminate d6=5 (hidden pair, 2 sets), then easy fillings to 43 filled.
3) eliminate g7=5 (which implies a contradiction in i2, 4 sets).

Total cost 6 sets, max depth : 4 (at step 2).

This puzzle being relatively easy, More...

10:39.. That kitty has it MADE!! Not a care in the world!!

Rain and thunderstorms in the great southern USA today. No chance for a shadow!! Looking forward to Spring... plant some flowers and soak in some sun!!

Good Mean to all!!
 |  |
it's definately a can9!!!
 |  |
22:00 - Started good, but went downhill in a hurry. Looks like someone found Nemo!! ??
 |  |
see, in the end, the toys fought back & won -- kitty is all pooped out. Kind of like dealing with a 3 year old -- at the end of the day, the toys are the things left standing :)
 |  |
16:03 with two guesses, in the interest of time and sanity. I love this cat! Same one as the previous puzzle, but who cares? He's a charmer. Great Maen, everyone, and happy solving.
 |  |
29:43. I can't seem to get these lately. It's the same cat as in Hard, (you can tell by the toys) and what a life!
 |  |
16:31 It must be a kitten - look at the face!
Definitely the same fish as the hard picture.
 |  |
I need to get a little help on solving these. I need to know the strategy on the tough ones. I can do up to hard fairly easy
 |  |
 |  |
21.17. yikes. made a bunch of mistakes & had to guess at a 4. cute kitty, though!
 |  |
12.46 - thought this was straightforward. And it's that pampered puss again! what a life - eat sleep play sleep eat sleep play - please let there be reincarnation! Thanks for the Sarah & meli!

Complete and graphically detailed proof in sandbox.

Just under nine mintues - a small price to pay to see this young'un sleep so soundly, doubtless after having played very hard catching all those fishies.
 |  |
I am still patiently waiting for my credit card company to send me a bill, which will have a number I can use with PayPal, so I can pay the blooming subscription fee, so I too can have cute emoticons. Sigh.
 |  |
ahhhhh!!!!!!
 |  |
I liked this one!
At 43 filled, I found a swordfish using 5's at a3, a7, g3, g6, g7, i3 and i6 to eliminate 5's at a2, a9, g8, i2 and i8.
Then a y-wing using h8=57, i8=67 and i3=56 to eliminate h2=5.
Then easy to the end.

Hi gb! Thank-you for your patient response to my post of yesterday! I completely agree with your comment that fc's are excellent as a mode to convey the logic of a solution. The precision and careful thoughfulness of your commets are much appreciated. I am just trying to learn, and your ability (and willingness) to teach seem unbounded!
