 Gath, the squares are totally empty. What are you doing to us. Some of the others might be clever, but I don't think they're that clever. Cheers |  |
 oops !? |  |
 But Anne, it's the easiest Sudoku ever...123456789234567891345678912 |  |
 ummmm... |  |
 well we're getting closer. first the tough linked to easy, now to empty - I assumed it was getting loaded but it's been this way for a few minutes. I'm on vacation and I need my tough sudoku!!!! I took advantage of the blank one to copy and paste the empty template into a word document so I can print out blanks when I need to. |  |
 Ian from Boston (or Bpston)I e'mailed Gath about it and asked if we just put the numbers in sequence, could we solve it. |  |
 It won't even let you put numbers in :) |  |
 Well at least I've got no excuse for not having an early night now - I will returnn tomorrow! |  |
 Ian...you have the right idea....but a little flawed 123456789456789123789123456 |  |
 Well, Anne, just print it out. |  |
 Yes Fred, you're right. I had an X-wing, forced pair at G3, an extra step I didn't need. From there, it was easy, because the UPs filled to 38. Then a hidden meaning brought up two MPs who caught a swordfish on 80lb test line. |  |
 especially for Jill, check samurai...http://www.samurai-sudoku.com/ Sorry if I am promoting other site but it is still Sudoku... |  |
 Thanks Ajay, will check it out pronto. Meanwhile will check back here periodically. |  |
 What gives. Being in Perth I am aware that we are behind, but, obviously, this is not a time problem. |  |
 No unique possibilities.Max Depth 0. Total sets 0. Rating 0. |  |
 Ajay, am working on that overlapping 5 sudoku puzzle. It's pouring outside here (at parent's beach house at Fire Island, NY) so it's good to know I have something to keep me busy for a while! Thanks. |  |
 ooooooh Jill is working a Samurai. Has she ever tried a Jigsaw or a Killer? |  |
 Am I really in tough? The comments look like easy. |  |
 The puzzle isn't of course. |  |
 Still working on that samurai. Good thing it's only a 'hard.' I'll keep you posted. If I try to do those regularly I may have to quit my job.... |  |
 Good mAen to all! A lot of comments for tough! Was there a glitch earlier on, because I had a toughie to play? Oh well, my reward was a graveyard.... |  |
 Unsolvable |  |
 Got empty squares in the morning, but the puzzle appeared eventually. 12:18 Cheers, all, and hope we're all lightyears away from the 'foot in the grave'--peaceful location, anyway, in the picture ... |  |
 These are getting harder |  |
 I DID IT!!!! It took a while but I solved the Samurai Sudoku!!!!! Have to go take a rest now.... |  |
 My ancestors are also from Scotland but I know very little about them. Scotland has always taken my imagination and I thank you for the photo. |  |
 This is a hard one |  |
 Been busy for a couple of days. The following is a proof that certainly is too complicated for this puzzle:1) Start at 23 filled - the given puzzle. Unique Possibilities to 25 filled. (UP 25).2a) Locked 5's at a46 forbids a789=5.2b) Locked 8's at c13 forbids c89=8.2c) (not needed More... |  |
 Step 2d matrix is more easily understood, by me anyway - as a modified forbidding chain on 3's:ab2=3 == i2=3 -- h3=3 == {X wing on 3's at h45, d45} orac6=3 == i6=3 -- i2=3 == {Xwing on 3's at ab2,ab7} Both forbids a4b5=3 This is called, I think, a 'finned' swordfish. |  |
 Hmm It appears that my alternate matrix is not valid - nor is one of the modified chains above.2d should only be written as the first matrix orac6=3 == i6=3 -- i2=3 == {Xwing on 3's at ab2,ab7} forbids a4b5=3.Sorry about my confusion. |  |
 The correct, Ithink, alternate finned swordfish that I saw was:c456=3 == c3=3 -- h3=3 == {X wing on 3's at h45, d45} Also, one can write:c456=3 == c3=3 -- hi3=3 == i2=3 -- i6=3 == ac6=3forbids a4b5=3 |  |
 Looks like a beautiful spot to Rest in Peace forevermore. |  |
