Basic techniques to UP = 27.
1. (8=7)b2 - b4 = d4 - (7=8*)d9 - (8=6)f8 - (6^)e9 = e5 - f4 = (6^)b4 => -6^8*b9 ; UP = 81

Hi rwm,
it seems that your path above is not related to the tough puzzle of the day:
.....8...79.6..1..2...9....85.......1..574..2.......64....8...9..8..7.36...2..... (SE 7.2)
Maybe the puzzle has changed (already happened) ?

Hi Alfred,
In your step #3, first branch of the alternative, how do you jump from d3=1=c9 (this OK to me) to g9=6 ?
I am puzzled...
Best regards, cenoman.

You're right cenoman. 6 @ a9 is still possible. So that step is not valid.

Best Regards, Alfred.
