I just indulged myself with a discount meal that tasted great: sushi (40% off) and soy sauce ($1 off), followed by a roast beef sandwich (French bread and sliced cooked beef both on sale plus an additional $1 off), mixed veggies (on sale plus coupon), mandarin oranges (on sale plus coupon) and More...

The weather here is looking up. We may try to get to the raptor center tomorrow to see the remaining eaglet. But for now, I'm off to bed for some z's. (Zed's???)

I'm off to meet the friend I played cat 'n mouse with before Christmas when trying to meet up for a coffee.
I rang her this morning to confirm the time and she started telling me about checking her calendar (I immediately thought, Oh, yeh, she can't make it) when she said she was going to ring More...

Back from having dinner at Mom's. Though we had to rush home and throw the girls in the shower and rush through bedtime rituals.
Did I mention I had a sick child this week? I must have been delusional, I think I had to grab a child or it maight have been both of them off the ceiling a few times. More...

Good for you, Plum! Cautiously optimistic news on this front. I did get a call back today on a resume I had sent out last week. Unfortunately, it was that perfect timing when the phone rings as your seat hits the throne. I will find out more next week. Now off to bed. I am only allowed one More...

I used to be a good couponer person. I think my biggest savings was a $365 grocery bill, I paid I think $50, took me 3 hours to shop and there was no meat.
I still clip, but most of the time, by the time I get to go shopping the coupons are out of date and I have soooo much help these days in shopping that my goal is to get in and out as fast as possible.

Well, I'm back from my coffee outing. My friend wasn't there when I arrived so I ordered coffee and waited for her to show up. Twenty five minutes later and after I had finished my coffee, I was walking out the door when she walked in. If I had left a second earlier and I would have missed her. She was naturally full of apologies but we had a good long chat, which was nice.

I stopped off at a book shop on the way home to buy a book by a local author and when I put the book on the counter, the person serving said, "Oh, that's one of my books!" It was the author, so she signed the book for me and told me about a follow up one she is in the process of writing.

It may be April Fools Day here - my ISP played a trick on me - no service for about 7 hours. I needed to download software to do my taxes.

The weatherman said it would 75 today - it got up to 66 - suppose to be cooler tomorrow and back into the 50's over the weekend. Winter isn't over till the daffodils get their snowcap. The daffodils are in bloom. Soon - maybe. We are at 127% of normal snow in the mountains - after years of draught & low water levels - this will be welcomed by the farmers.

Sunday on my way to church - in the rain, I noticed that the trees were in blossom - lovely. Last night (also in the rain) driving to church there were even more trees in bloom - thoughts of Spring. Almost as beautiful as autumn. Pastels vs. vivid bright colors. It is nice having seasons (not More...

Yes, New Zealand is beautiful - loved the South Island. Magnificent scenery and wonderful people. The 45th parallel South runs through the So. Island & the 45th parallel North runs through Oregon - I see a lot of similarities.

I still have to finish my taxes - but not tonight. Trying to figure out where I put the cap gains carryover from last year - it will take me a life time of returns to reduce that to zero at only being able to use $3K a year.

My son was born when I was 35. I was born, my Dad was 30. When my father was born, his father was 51. When my grandfather was born, his father was 47. That man, my great-grandfather, fought in the civil war and was dead before 1900. I don't know why they say a generation is 15 years, when in my family, its is more like 37 years.

Gee, Eve I already cashed my tax refund. And I think you mean "Capital Loss Carryover" as gains are only taxed in the year they occurred.

ROSEBUDS

Her grandmother threw a fit, telling her not to dare go out like that!

The teenager told her 'Loosen up Gran. These are modern times. You gotta let your rose buds show!' More...
