Seriously - apparently it's a severe case of osteo arthritis and I have these charming little bits floating around under my kneecap. Very painful and very swollen.

That's so Sad Amelia. I look after the interests of an elderly lady with Parkinsons Disease. There is a form of dementia that goes with Parkinsons and she is suffering from this as well. When I go to visit, I'm never quite sure who/what I'm going to be faced with and what I'm going to be accused of on any given day.. I DO feel for you - and she's not even my blood relative.

Amelia - there are lots of support groups out there - the earlier your mum is introduced to one of them - the easier it will be for her to handle as time, and the symptoms, progress.
